Maybe not a dumpster fire, but...

Taylor alone generated more career NCAA points than our entire recruiting class of 2010 combined. Ditto for Ruth, Stieber, and Dake. #1 P4P recruits sometimes flame out, but landing a superstar who can make the finals 4 times is pure gold.

We like to tout Dan Dennis as a model of success, but he only scored ~30 career NCAA points because he didn't make the finals until his senior year.

I recall the points system was tweaked in the last decade or so. IIRC the new NCAA tourney points system rewards making the finals more than the previous system. Interesting that a couple of champs can beat 10 AAs. That discussion could make an interesting debate. Do we more highly reward champions or depth?
