McCarron's Chances on Rise

Hope he gets a decent shot on the field in preseason, shows what he can do and is on the roster through the season. He could be a great slot guy like the ones they've had for years now. Speedy too.

Riley's not that big, but he is an unbelievably quick, good athlete. If not for injuries, he could have been all-state in five sports in high school- football, baseball, track, basketball and soccer..

Injuries hampered his career at Iowa too. He likely would have contributed more in 2014 were it not for illness and injury. His '15 season was okay ... buy we had a lot of SRs then ... so he was mostly a back-up. '16 was his best shot ... and he made it count.

Riley didn’t play soccer in hs. He certainly was a great athlete in hs.

Patriots signed yet another WR yesterday. Sounded more like an outside guy, rather than a slot, though.

NE has McCarron on the bubble for WR. They also have 3 other Hawkeyes in camp: Cole Croston at Guard, Matt Tobin at Tackle, and James Ferentz at Center.

What are the chances any of them make the 53 man roster. I guess Croston with McCarron as the next best chance. Tobin if they have an injury and James Ferentz as a coach in training!

The also have Adrian Clayborn on the roster

:)
But he WAS the main target/leading receiver as a senior catching nearly twice as many passes as any other WR on the roster.

Riley proved a lot that Senior season at Iowa. Remember him making some Tough, tough grabs and he is always open, because of his elite quickness.

GO HAWKS !
