Mclewain @ Florida as been fired

They take that outdoor cocktail party pretty seriously. Spurrier and Urban owned the Bulldogs. Zooker and others since....not so much. You drop that one by 5 TDs, you gone. Back to the Group of 5 for McElwane, me thinks.

Jim McElwain done and Butch Jones @Tennesse will be right behind him- funny thing is both guys have woodshed type wins over Coach Ferentz and Iowa.

MC of ISU would be a great hire for Florida, hope they pull the trigger.

This means they already have someone.

Campbell or Frost? Frost makes more sense to me given he's already proven that he can win in the state of Florida and has existing recruiting ties. Campbell has one good season on his resume at ISU after a bad 1st season, and is more of a risk IMO.

Maybe they go after Miss State's-Dan Mullen...Florida''s new AD spent the previous 6 years as the MSU AD..Mullen coached at Florida during the Urban Meyer era.

Coaches definitely bounce around the SEC a heck of a lot more than any other conference.

Well, the season isn't over, for one. Not that I expect this to happen, but if ISU went 1-3 the rest of the way, they would finish the regular season 7-5. Just saying, Campbell's "one good season" isn't done yet.

Also, this is only Frost's second year as a head coach. Campbell was head coach at Toledo for a few years before taking the ISU job. If anything, Campbell is less risky than Frost, if you're basing it on experience.

With that said, if I had to bet money, I'm guessing Frost would be more likely than Campbell (because I really don't expect him to leave after this season but you never know) to take the Florida job, which would really add salt to the wound for Husker fans.

Doesn't Scott Frost play the style of offense that Urban Meyer plays and that Florida fans love?

Link to Nebby boards where they are nervous?

If you were Scott Frost would you pick Nebby or Florida or would you stay put?

Makes me wonder if Scott Frost to Florida is almost a done deal

I really don't think Mike Riley is going to get fire he is going to get time to turn things around.

Mclewain has a 12 million buy out at Florida and he might lose it.

After the Texas A&M loss coach Mclewain said he and his family were getting death threats. The Florida Administration wanted proof of the death threats and Mclewain refused to hand over the proof. If coach Mclewain does not hand over the proof, this violates his contract and Florida will not have to pay the 12 million.

If I were Frost I would go Florida. Recruiting has to be better in Florida than in the upper Midwest.

I've heard that rumor, and I'm curious if that's legit or just something they're claiming. Last I knew it was being haggled over. I'd like to know the contract clause that would stipulate that.

And this is true . I heard that today on XM ESPN U radio

What if Nebby fired Riley and hired ISU's coach. If he stays at ISU after this year he is dumber than a rock. You can't sustain success at ISU in football. ISU got a 1 in a generation talent in their WR because his dad played there. Good luck attracting that talent to ISU.

yeah I'm guessing those two bowl wins, I'm guessing both coaches wish they would have had maybe Michigan or Michigan state or Wisconsin instead. it's sort of like beating iowa st in a bowl for them. or Kansas.

After the Iowa win McElwain took a jab at the Florida Administration. They want him out and will do anything contractually to avoid the 12 million buy out.

Im guessing it has to do with handing over evidence of a crime or something related to the proof it actually happened?

I find it funny that both of these coaches with highly rated recruits cannot sustain their programs; however, Coach Ferentz is able to sustain the Hawkeyes program. I guess Coach Ferentz is able to coach up the less sought after recruits while these two guys are able to recruit but not able to coach.

I've been saying it for years. Kirk is not a very good recruiter. But he is excellent at coaching and developing talent, probably even "elite" to borrow a phrase from the douche bag to the north.

Give Kirk access to the type of talent schools like Texas, Florida, and Notre Dame have (where you could just send out a few fliers and get 4* recruits all day) and I honestly think he would have a dynasty going.

Doesn't mean his brand of football isn't frustrating to watch, and the reason why we've dropped some games that we shouldn't have over the years. But I honestly think that if he was at a school like the ones listed above, he would be going toe to toe with Saban most years.
