You guys expect Iowa to be good but don't expect them to treat every single day as the most important day of the season?Or he understands how college football works in 2024. Yah, I think that might be it.
Some are playing for their future. The possibility of getting an NFL contract. These guys are D1 players for a reason. They're damn good athletes & they take pride in competing and winning. Get it?My point being they are just practicing
Back in my days....And you would be wrong ( football - state playoffs all 4yrs and starting OLB Jr/Sr yrs, basketball, track -state in sprint medley, 4x800, and open 800). But get to your point.
McNamara has a chance to end his career on a positive note. He needs to put his ego aside, grab his lunch pale, and try to help the Hawks win 3 games in a row down the stretch. Doing so will work wonders for his reputation.

No matter what year it is, or what sport it is, there is ALWAYS something to play for. It's very easy to understand
I'm not sure what he needs to repair with respect to his reputation. He's just a below average QB that's incurred a lot of injuries impacting his abilities. Nothing is going to change any of that for better or worse.McNamara has a chance to end his career on a positive note. So what's the story? Cade doesn't want to play anymore?Legends & listeners pod kind of let the cat out of the bag saying "if I were the iowa coaches I wouldn't be to happy with cade, I could say some things but won't go there"
Bad character basically, expect that he's played his last snap as a hawkeyeSo what's the story? Cade doesn't want to play anymore?
Has nothing to do with all the reasons why there is ALWAYS something to play for
Take this for what its worth but some people I know in Iowa City told me this morning that Cade has basically quit the team. I know thats vague but he has taken his last snap as an Iowa Hawkeye. I am just the messenger. But that is not how many athletes, or some programs, think anymore.
Took the money and ran when things got toughTake this for what its worth but some people I know in Iowa City told me this morning that Cade has basically quit the team. I know thats vague but he has taken his last snap as an Iowa Hawkeye. I am just the messenger.
Well, the dude did assume i didnt play, he is wrong.Back in my days....
Never said that, i specifically said the BOWL games are a joke, if you havent seen that the past few years then that is on you. When the best players opt out and we are stuck watching the 2 and 3 play, its nothing more then practice. So the VAST majority of college games shouldn’t be played this weekend or next because they aren’t related to a national championship? What is your criteria for when games should be played? Please be specific. Many sports participants and fans outside of fb are equally interested in this approach. Could be applicable to the private sector economy as well so do tell!
you assumed so theres that. Never said they didnt have pride, thats your own projection. I said the extra practice is what they get out of it, playing against another teams 2 and 3 isnt the same as the 1s. Bowl games have lost some of the luster and thats just facts. You seem proud of your playing days.
What makes you think that Hawkeye players and coaches don't have pride as well?
Amongst several things, pride is one reason there is ALWAYS something to play for
The majority of bowl games are really, as you said, glorified practice games. Look at the attendance at some of these bowl games (not Iowa because Iowa fans have always traveled well).you assumed so theres that. Never said they didnt have pride, thats your own projection. Interesting if true. This is exactly what some dudes from Michigan said would happen if Cade ever had to compete for the position.Took the money and ran when things got tough
We've had quite a few of those since the Swarm came around. Cade, Brown, Anderson, an OLine that never played.Poster child for NIL busts
So no championships? Not sure why you bothered to play. School pride? Participation trophies? Jingle jock? And you would be wrong ( football - state playoffs all 4yrs and starting OLB Jr/Sr yrs, basketball, track -state in sprint medley, 4x800, and open 800). But get to your point.

Nothing wrong with extra practice but the bowls have certainly lost somr luster.
Benched. Take the NIL and enter portal and try for medical red shirt to squeak out one more year maybe? Would not surprise me but who knows?Take this for what it’s worth but some people I know in Iowa City told me this morning that Cade has basically quit the team. It would surprise me if any D1 team wanted him.Benched. Take the NIL and enter portal and try for medical red shirt to squeak out one more year maybe? Would not surprise me but who knows?
When they say the proverbial, "I-know-but-won't-say", it pretty much means...they DON'T know.Legends & listeners pod kind of let the cat out of the bag saying "if I were the iowa coaches I wouldn't be too happy with cade, I could say some things but won't go there"

Cade could try that but no way is he getting another payday from a FBS program. His play has been too poor (when he’s been out there).Benched. Take the NIL and enter portal and try for medical red shirt to squeak out one more year maybe? Would not surprise me but who knows?
What part of the word "ALWAYS" do you not understand? But that is not how many athletes, or some programs, think anymore.

He might as well quit while his body is still functioning…I feel bad for him a little, never really panned out at either Michigan or Iowa. I could see him being a grad assistant somewhere though….It would surprise me if any D1 team wanted him.
That was the premise of my statement that you responded too. Im done. And never did I mention a thing about bowl games
If the Hawkeyes end up 6-6, I don't know how many will want to travel this year. The majority of bowl games are really, as you said, glorified practice games. Look at the attendance at some of these bowl games (not Iowa because Iowa fans have always traveled well).
You responded to me first. Brought up the bowl stuff when I had never mentioned a word about itThat was the premise of my statement that you responded too. Im done.
He can go back up big Deac...Benched. Take the NIL and enter portal and try for medical red shirt to squeak out one more year maybe? Would not surprise me but who knows?
