Anybody ever heard of this? My GP doctor is converting his practice from a traditional family medical practice to this model where he severely limits the number of patients he'll see and offer same/next day visits without the usual time constraints. In addition he works with you to develop a set of baselines from various diagnostic testing to monitor your health progress.

I've had this doctor for 20+ years and he's been great so I hate to lose him, but he's charging $3,200 per year for this service. The whole thing has left a sour taste in my mouth. Anybody have any experience with these services?

$3,200 pays for a lot of urgent care copays. Not sure anything else needs same day or next day availability.

Yes it's common these days. It's called concierge medicine.

That's what my Dr. did. He and I were classmates in HS and he wanted 150/month. I passed as it seemed that specialists were all I ever need anyway. No ragrets...
$150/mo is about half of what my doctor is asking for.

You sure you have no ragrets? Not even one?

would be nice if some such model sticks particularly if insurance can be side-stepped to benefit both patient and doctor.
