Fantastic news. Especially after that crap from the Baylor coach. Megan absolutely deserved this honor. She was the best player on the court against Baylor, and was the best player in the nation.
It is so cool to see her receiving such high honors, what a great representative for U of I and so deserving too. Yet she remains so humble and gracious...good on her!

I have met her a few times over the past few years.
Met her this year and had my little niece with me. She took the time to talk to and inspire my niece.

24 years. And prior to that, Michelle Edwards won the Champion National Player of the Year Award in 1988. So Gustafson is the second Hawkeye to win NPOTY.

I guess I don’t.
It’s hard for me to imagine another player, teammate, inspiration, student athlete, & just all around great of person as her ever coming through again.
Maybe I’m wrong, I hope we see another Hawkeye like her.
