Mejia

He'll still be a Hawk...Gilman path. Just hurts right now but he wants to be in the black and gold.

I think we know where papa Mejia stands but I also have a suspicion of where Justin's heart stands. I don't think this is a case of dumb and dumber so you're saying there's a chance. I am sure not good odds but maybe a minimal chance. Right?

This wishful thinking or you hearing something?

More wishful but also observing as this process goes on. The kid loves the Hawks. I've spoken with him and his father in Cedar Rapids before and the kid has Hawkeye written all over him. His father was a great man too. Listen it's great to go to IL or MN and be successful but if you're heart is with the Hawks do you really want to be second guessing whether you could of done great things in the hawk room? The same can be said if your heart/passion are with other programs.

I remember him coming out at Agon in Crdar Rapids in the Hawkeye singlet and you could tell the pride he had!

I spoke with him at Agon and saw him at Carver during the Olympic trials. He was in the room talking with Gilman and you are 100% correct. Justin needs to do what is best for Justin and that is follow his heart. I am rooting for him either way but would love to see him in Carver with his Iowa gear.

edit: To expand on this I will never forget his face as he sat next to Gman on the bleachers after most of the team had worked out. He was intensely soaking it all in. I have been there many times with recruits in the bleachers and I have never had one make the impression on me that Justin did just by his body language and facial expressions. The kid was in love. I hope he is just cheating on us a little bit to get even and comes back home before making the mistake of signing elsewhere.

I too hope somehow Justin still ends up at Iowa. Maybe wishful thinking, but by most written accounts, he really did want to come.

I would also add, whether he comes or not, the right thing to do is still be respectful of his decision, and show respect toward his father who used to post here, and often gave updates on what was coming up for his son.

Keeping the "pipeline" open to CA blue chip prospects could pay off in future championships. In just the past few years, CA has sent a good number of guys to schools in the midwest or east, and they've produced..... Garrett, Imar, McIntosh, Welch, Delgado, Varner, and others.
