No, although he looked that way. Uthoff can do a combination of things not too many players can do. Trimble? He's a semi fast shoot first PG who is overrated. There's nothing he can do that makes him special.
I don't think he's a shoot first PG. He's the guy most likely to take a shot when Maryland needs points, but Trimble is a fantastic distributor, especially off the drive. He's easily the most court-aware PG in the Big Ten. It seems like he always knows where everybody is on the court.

No need to be an overreacting Ahole. He's a good PG but IMO he's not an elite player. So what? Uthoff is a long, skilled player who excels at everything (shooting, defense, blocking shots) even though he didn't show it the other night.
Lots of elite players play marginal defense in the NBA. Kyrie Irving, James Harden, etc. If you fill a niche, that's all you need. Van horn isn't a bad comparison although I thought he was slow, esp. after he bulked up later on.

Like hawk i bob said, there are lots of PG's like him in the NBA. Uthoff is a 6'9" F who can stroke it from deep and can block shots and has good to great athleticism. There are not a lot of players like him anywhere. IMO he is a special player. Trimble is not, IMO. Again, I don't think he's a bad player. He just doesn't seem to stick out too much to me.
