Mello Trimble: Can you say Over rated??

After watching the last couple of games, Uthoff may have some trouble in NBA with the physical needs of that game. Maryland and NW in the second half really pushed him around and there was some frustration in his game. It will be a challenge for him, but I honk he play at that level.

I'm not saying he'll be a star at that level, but in the NBA teams won't need to or be able to focus on him the way a college needs to or can. On a decent NBA team, he'd be about the 6-7th option and have 2-4 guys on the court better than him at all times. That's both good and bad.

I'd think he should be able to carve out a nice career as a role player in the right situations team wise.

Uthoff does struggle with physical play, but it's not as if he can't get stronger. I look at that as something that is fixable.

Trimble is currently listed as the 4th point guard in the 2016 NBA mock draft at the link below. Strange they list 12 point guards and none of them named Marcus Paige and he's a senior.

Getting drafted in the second round only sets up disappointment for many players. I hadn't checked that out for a few years but did some home work and 19 of the 60 players selected last year did not make an NBA team roster including the #26th pick in the first round, also 35-39-42,44 and none of the players picked 47 through 60 except the 56th pick.

Hundreds of college players make fine college players but when many NBA players keep playing for up to 20 years and some longer there aren't many spots available. Kobe is the only old timer I have heard that is going to retire this year and most of the players that did get signed aren't playing much. The only exception might be some of the high draft picks because they are going to a bad or rebuilding team.

I generally agree with OP. Trimble is really good, but I don't think he's elite-level, and I think he'll be a good but not great NBA player. If he is your NBA starting PG, I don't think you're ever better than about a 4 seed in your own conference. That doesn't mean I think he is bad, it just means the oozing slobbering over him seems over the top.

His ceiling could be Kyle Lowry.

Melo is rated as the # 2 pure pg in the nation as a sophmore. He is a tremendous talent.

I'm reminded, I used to like Caramelo candy bars. do they still exist?

rockeye knows zero about basketball. Better guards at the rec center?? Laughable. Trimble is the real deal at this level and the next. Ironfist in the same league as rockeye. Maryland is nothing without Trimble running the show, just a bunch of athletes. He makes them players who win.
Shut up. I just flushed something that's worth more than your opinion.
