Met's Murphy

I can't believe he hasn't been drilled yet. Your season is on the line and you keep letting the same guy dig in and beat you? Wtf? Knock his ass down at least!

Lucky guy is about to get seriously overpaid by some team who looks at his postseason and not his whole career.

I told my wife the same thing before the homer...gotta at least make him move his feet.

As a life long Cub fan, this series couldn't be any less surprising. Oh yeah, I think I'm supposed to say "wait til next year" or something like that.

All you need to do is get "hot" at the right time. The announcers were even saying that this guy can get base hits, but home runs are not his norm. So he is playing very well and leading his team. I saw the mets are not going to re-sign him??? WOW talk about possibly giving up a MVP.

The series will be over after tonight. The Cubbies celebrated too much after beating the Cardinals and were not ready for this series. The cubs are young, they will hopefully be back next year.

I don't think he'd get that message with Hendricks. He'd probably catch it and throw it back

That isn't why they are losing. They have run into a buzz saw of outstanding pitchers top to bottom of their rotation and out of the pen.

Pitching wins championships in playoff baseball and the Mets have that in spades.

Why are the cubs pitchers losing velocity on the ball and the mets pitchers getting stronger? I realize that the mets are a good team, Im not saying that their terrible. They have a good team.

I thought the NL central was the best baseball, but I think the division the mets are in is showing its better. The cubbies are young and the lose of Russell really doomed this club. They say that the players are "loose" but their not. They are tight and tentative in key situations. Their young and hopefully will be back. One thing I have noticed in this series.

Arietta, Lester, and the others have all lost something on their fastball (mid 90s) now struggling to get it to 90. Do you think they are fatigued at all? I mean some of the guys have almost doubled their amount of innings pitched this year. Did we pitch them too much?

Yep. Their pitching got hot/healthy at the right time. It's crazy because St Louis, Pittsburgh, and Chicago Cubs led the regular season with pitching, so it's not like the Cubs haven't faced good pitching all year. The top 3 teams all shared the same division. It seems to me NY Mets (who were 4th all year long) got hot and Cubs pitching finally looked human.

That said. GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!
