I see Logan Lee and Josiah Miamen as Swarm19's version of Fant and Hockenson. Lee is not the receiving threat Hock was in high school but that could change at Iowa.

Offers from Purdue, Notre Dame, NW, Spartans, Iowa and other P5 teams. Definitely not a sleeper and definitely a great addition.
I have to wonder if some Nebraska verbals are still solid.

The Hawkeyes have landed one of their top remaining targets in the Class of 2019 as tight end
Josiah Miamen
made the call tonight and verbally committed to the Iowa coaching staff. A three-star prospect, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Miamen had narrowed his choice down to Iowa and Wisconsin in recent weeks and made official visits to both schools this month before arriving at his decision.

"I’d like to thank all the coaches that believed in me as a person as well as a player and recruited me throughout this whole process," Miamen tweeted Sunday night. "With that being said I’m now excited to announce that I will be committing to the University of Iowa."

Along with Iowa and Wisconsin, Miamen also picked up scholarship offers from Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Illinois during the recruiting process.

"It just felt right," Miamen told HawkeyeReport.com after announcing his decision. "Tight ends are a huge part of their offense and I believe that Iowa will help optimize my potential."

Overall, the Illinois native is commitment No. 15 for the Hawkeyes as he joins

Fran's got my back, not a sleeper. Demond Sanders is a sleeper.

Everyone has your back. ;) He is anything BUT a sleeper. Otherwise, he would not have 9 Power 5 scholarship offers.

I don't care one way or the other but I'm sorry if a kid has offers from ND, Michigan, Mich St, Penn St and Wisconsin as well as other P5 schools he is NOT a sleeper.

Look, do you realize how many fans post that we don't have legit talent. Do you really want to feed into their narrative?
I'm not feeding it. I'm saying he is a legit talent. Kid could play at any program in the country yet has only 15 offers. #38 TE in the country? Come on. He could easily be the top TE in the country especially at IOWA. Understand? I'm not worried about narratives chief.

You don't know how many offers he has. He has reported 15. He could have 60, but not bothered reporting the 45 he had zero interest in.

It is illegal for a school to name students they make offers to. The student has to announce it himself.

Correct...he will be Fant 2.0.

I think I’ll trust the opinion of the staff over mine, or anyone else on this board, when it comes to TE recruiting. Now, when it comes to WR recruiting...........

You need to look at more than one site rating. Either way, he was a commodity to many FBS programs and ya can't say that about sleepers.
Many? Look 15 out of 117 is not many and don't try to cite the possibility of 45 unreported offers as evidence of the many who might have been interested. Yea I know you didn't post that. Some big time programs offered but not many.

So you're a sleeper if you don't get 10 offers from SEC schools? I love these type of sleepers:rolleyes:

The fact that Iowa beat out some more prestigious programs like Michigan, Notre Dame, MSU, Penn State, and Wisconsin, all of whom aside from MSU (Garrett Celek to my knowledge is it) have quite recently put TEs in the NFL, is a big indicator that Iowa is actually becoming TE U. (Holy run on sentence)

Miamen is a huge get. While the “sleeper” argument is a dumb one to be having in the first place, I’d add that when you consider the trend away from TEs in college football, we beat out a lot of high caliber teams that feature them in their offenses. Who is sleeping on Miamen? Alabama?

How many reported offers do you need to have to not be a sleeper in your eyes? James Daniels reported 16 offers, including Alabama and Ohio State. Additionally, he was a 3 star on multiple sites for quite a while until the very end of his recruitment. Still is on ESPN. Was he a sleeper too?

Like I said in my previous post this is a stupid argument in the wake of a great recruiting get, but to be adamant that Miamen is an unheralded prospect seems a little odd
