Miamen commits to Iowa

Yeah I Believe Dunlap just lost to Metamora this weekend.

Miamen plays for Dunlap High School , a suburb
of Peoria, Illinois He plays in the Mid-Illini Conference
which has powerhouse teams like Metamora and
Washington.

Correct...he will be Fant 2.0.
Incorrect. However, I'm burying the hatchet with those that think he is not a sleeper. All I can say is you win.
Having a sleeper like Miamen join the class is a great development. He is the clear receiving threat and I'll be interested to see how his measurables compare with Fant. Looks like he can move well and has some jumping ability.

Having a non-sleeper like Miamen join the class is a great development.

FIFY.

To me it looks like he has a better offer list than Fant did. Fant was rated as the #26 tight end, Miamen is what #38?

If you definition of sleeper is 'ranked too low/under valued' than you might be correct. I think most people view a sleeper as 'unknown', and with his offer list Miamen is well known.

That's the way I'm viewing sleeper, that's why I said good thing coaching staffs don't only look at ratings

Welcome Josiah! All those offers tell me you are a very special player and I am thrilled you have picked the Hawkeyes from that impressive list. The TE position at Iowa is a critically important component to the overall success of our offense. I know you will become another star TE like so many others have at Iowa. Thanks again for saying yes to our program and welcome to the family.

A number of schools, like Nebraska, wanted Fant as a DE. Jees..... what a waste that would have been. Noah will be an instant starter in the league. You just don't see 250lb TE's run away from DB's like he does.

Miamen did not blow up on the national stage by having a major statistical year last season. His big time offers came from within the B1G footprint. Had he blown up after last season he would be more highly rated with bigger nationwide offers. Given the kind of athlete and receiver he is, he is under the radar. Good for us!

That's probably the biggest parallel between Noah and Josiah ... most folks seemed to like them at DE ... but the way that they project at TE is particularly exciting. The thing is ... most places don't utilize their TE well enough ... consequently that is why many TE recruits have more value for most programs at DE.

Totally agree on the parallel and love the insight on why some see a DE vs. TE. I bet there are some schools looking at Logan Lee think he'd make a mighty fine DE.

He probably would .... and Coach Morgan might try planting some defensive thoughts into Logan's mind once he hits campus. However, Logan is a guy who could really be one of those balanced TEs who is equally good at blocking and receiving.

I definitely want Lee at TE, but he looks very capable at DE. He will make a great all around TE. Very happy with out TE class this year!

Lee has some pretty great stats so far this season as a DE. Much more so than a TE. 15.5 TFLs and 11 sacks in 4-5 games is really something. Also earned an award for best TE/WR in one of the well known camps this summer.
Happy the hawks are set to get both Lee and Miamen.

This consolation prize is a good one.
Consolation prize, this kid just picked Iowa over Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, ND and others. Great athlete with similar speed and measurables as Fant. Great pick up. He and Lee

He committed right on heels of the Wisky game, so I only meant it as consolation for that loss. I'm thrilled with the pickup.

I'm not feeding it. I'm saying he is a legit talent. Kid could play at any program in the country yet has only 15 offers. #38 TE in the country? Come on. He could easily be the top TE in the country especially at IOWA. Understand? I'm not worried about narratives chief.
