Michigan is Not Going to Dismantle Us

I would say see you in Indy, but we both know Michigan won't be there

And we both know Michigan is the far superior team. lol Wisconsin fans can think that they are good but fact is they really haven't beaten anyone with a pulse. Oh well. If Wisconsin makes the conference title game maybe they can lose 59-0 again or something like that.

Iowa plays up to the level of their competition for the most part (OSU in 2013, MSU in Indy, just to name a few) But they do lay an egg once in awhile (see Rose Bowl). I don't see Michigan killing us, good game the whole way through. Will We Win? More than likely not, but we will be in it.
Did we play up to northwestern, rutgers and ndsu this year? If so, damn.

Down several key players and starting a freshman quarterback and you can only muster a 7 point win against a "bad team"? Yikes. Shit, since Wisconsin is bad, who has Michigan beaten with a pulse? That was Michigan's highest ranked win in 10 years. That should be flat out embarrassing for you. 5 years and not a single division title? Jeez, might be time to disband the program.

rose colored glasses? I would say 1-2 is more likely than 2-1 over the next 3 games. Michigan will completely shut down Iowa's offense! Spread will be around -9 for Michigan at Kinnick Stadium.
Wow, you don't think that Iowa can beat Purdue and Penn State (a team that went into OT vs Minny) over Iowa's next 3 games?

Michigan moved the ball down the field with regularity against Wisconsin but missed 3 FGs to make the score a lot closer than the stats otherwise showed.
Likewise, Iowa moved the ball decently up to the red zone vs Minny, but simply shot themselves in the foot a couple times (settling for field goals rather than TDs), so final score was somewhat misleading. When a team controls the ball 10 minutes more than opponent (as Iowa did vs.MN) the outcome is usually not in question.

Meanwhile Wisconsin is tied with, wait for it, Purdue and Northwestern in the West division.

Soon to be sitting at 1-2 and looking at a finish in the bottom half of the west. Hopefully Hazell doesn't run up the score when he gets the chance.

Prayers sent your way buddy.

Might be, but as long as Wisconsin is on the schedule we can pencil in one gimme a season. Especially with Chryst at the Badger's helm.

Homers gonna homer though[/QUOTE]
So over half of Michigan's drives went for next to nothing. The other half got them a grand total of 14 points. Just be glad our DB's couldn't catch a cold or the first TD doesn't happen and one of the missed FG's is probably a pick six. Michigan sure didn't make it look easy at home against a defense down several starters.

Good teams play through injuries. In fact, your impact guy was your LB. We lost our starting LEFT TACKLE, and the week prior....our #2 corner. Just the LT alone trumps any player you can claim.

No excuses, we beat you. You sound like a whiny little girl complaining about being "down several starters". Your offense is putrid, and had better get a lot better to have a chance against OSU. I didn't see any star players on the injury list that would have made much of a difference.

Also, if you get to conjure up plays your team didn't make, you know we can just say the real score was 23-7...since our kicker apparently lost the ability to make chip shot FGs.

Good teams play through injuries, which Wisconsin did pretty well on the road. Your impact guy was your LB and best player and it was clear that he was missed in run defense and in the pass rush. We lost our starting LEFT TACKLE, and the week prior....our #3 corner. Obviously those aren't as impactful as not having your #1 OLB, #1 ILB, #3 corner, #1 kick returner, #1 FG kicker, #1 LG, #2 LG, #3 LG, and #3 RB, but they played a factor.

We beat you, which you have addressed and fully accept. Your offense was putrid, but it's obvious that had a lot to do with being down to a 4th string lineman and playing against an elite DL, compounded by misses/drops in the passing game. A handful of players on the injury list probably would've helped those injury woes

Also, I do realize you were just conjuring up plays your team didn't make because the poster you were replying to was. That was a good counter by you. We will just say the real score was 14-7, since that was the actual score of the game. It sucks that our kicker missed two field goals from 40+, far from chip shots. It also sucks that your kicker was injured, as there is a good chance two more of your drives result in 3 points.
Don't worry, I fixed all of the stupid for you. God have mercy on your soul.

The transitive property doesn't hold up in college football, so despite the fact that Iowa struggled mightily against an awful rutgers team and scUM just destroyed them has less meaning.
However, the level of play of scUM's defense overall as compared to Iowa's offense in the season to date is more relevant and that bodes very poorly for Iowa.
I agree with WWDM in that Iowa has a "puncher's chance" as it were, but not much more than that. If scUM holds to form and comes in to Kinnick unbeaten, an improbable Iowa win could be considered the biggest upset of the KF era.
If we burst Kirk's bubble and beat Michigan, he'll make sure we lose the rest of our games.

I wouldn't type this if Iowa didn't have an innovator at the HC who can motivate players like Kirk Ferentz, but I don't see Iowa losing another game this year. They won't be in the NC game, but they'll be in Pasadena again folks. And God-willing, and if the stars align just right, and Coach Ferentz keeps his vitamin K and folate levels up, Iowa will be walking out of the Rose Bowl with a big fat W. Like last year, but better.

Don't be so pessimistic. Everyone in the top 15 will lose the rest of their games, and Iowa will win the National Championship.

Michigan's defense may score more points than Iowa's offense. I hope Iowa wins but I have a hard time seeing that actually happen based on Iowa's offensive performances the last 4 weeks.

They struggled offensively all afternoon at home against Wisconsin, and Wisconsin's #1 linebacker didn't play. Wisconsin's defense is superior to ours, but I don't think they're that far ahead of us against a pro-style, low mobility, type quarterback.

I fully expect this Iowa defense to continue to improve. We have @ Purdue, Wisconsin, and @ Penn State. I'd say 2-1 is more likely than 1-2. 3-0 isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility either but unlikely. If we go 2-1 it'll be a 6-3 Iowa vs. a likely undefeated, top 4 Michigan.

Michigan will be coming into a difficult early November night environment at Kinnick stadium against an Iowa team that should be loose with not nearly as much to lose. Will be interesting to see how Speight plays at Michigan State in two weeks in what will be his first road test against a decent defense.

I don't care what Michigan did to Rutgers. I just don't see Michigan lining up and running the ball down our throats. Speight will have to make some plays. If we can play well on special teams and our offense can have at least some resemblance of a pulse, I think this could end up being a very close game.

I wish people would stop this whole Michigan is going to kill us manta. It's getting old.
Silly wabbit.

I don't think you can dismantle something that has yet to be built. So . . . I agree?

50-14-1. That says enough right there. Keep trying to use your homerism to think the game was even remotely as close to what you thought it was. Michigan more than doubled Wisconsin's yardage total and should have beaten them by at least 2-3 scores. But use any excuse you want to try and make you feel better.

I love irony

Maybe you need glasses. LOL, I just love the sheer condescending amount of wrong in this thread.

You put pressure on the QB get good line play a few players make plays and step up on the big stage and bang! You beat the big bad booger eater in in a fight in your own back yard at night with the back yard lights on!
