Michigan played great

The big rodents are good. They have no seniors and will be really good next year. Think we lose the rematch on the road which would be no disgrace were it to happen, although it may have a big affect on BTT and NCAA seeding.

Nah, this was their chance to win.

Iowa left a 10-15 points off the board by missing easy shots.

Won't happen next time.

If Iowa plays their A game it's a blowout.

Ok, did it seem to everybody else that they shot lights out from three, but I just looked and they only shot 35% from three. Now, they made 10, but took 28 threes...that's alot of bombing...talk about a team that lives by the three a bit. They all move without the ball and really share it. I thought our defense was awesome several times only to have someone nail an absolutely hand in the face shot. I was impressed with Michigan's poise...they were playing tough and to win...no let up when they got down by 12 or 13...they just kept working. Good team...and will be a great rematch in their place.

If Caris Levert plays...Michigan wins in AArbor. He is a difference maker...just ask the NBA.

Just because he is a likely lottery pick doesn't make them a better 'team'. I haven't watched enough of them to really tell, but sometimes when you have a guy that needs to 'get his', the rest of the teams suffers. That's the beauty of JU's game. Gets his within the flow of the game while still getting everyone involved. Hawks will be tough to beat anywhere.

So u think they r a better team without him?
Or just saying a Senior leader high on the NBA draft boards who started a NCAA title game is bad for the team:)
You obviously haven't watched much M hoops.

By the way...u still think Fran is an "awful in game coach?"

I thought I prefaced it by saying I hadn't watch them play much

And do I think they will be good enough to beat Iowa? No... No I do not.

Yep. U seem to be on the bandwagon again. Just questioning your overall knowledge of the game, and taking everything you say with a grain of salt. So yes, quite relevant

That's quite a stretch, the two aren't actually related in any way you're just trying to dig something up you think is going to make me look bad.

Laughable.

Yes , I still feel Fran's in game coaching has often left allot to be desired. Still no excuse to let your team lose that ISU game either, which is , I'm assuming , when I would have made that comment, if I did at all.

He seems to have found a good grove with substitutions since then though.

As to the question ( which has nothing to do with my opinion of Fran's in game coaching) Iowas already won on the road against better teams and players than Michigan and Caris Lavert.

They were on fire. They missed their last 6 I think in the last 3 minutes. Take those out and they were probably shooting around 45% for the first 37 minutes.

Michigan is damn good. This game reminded me of the mid 80s games with Michigan. I will say that I thought Fran was pretty damn smart switching defenses against them throughout the game. They can eventually beat you whatever you throw at them but you have to keep switching. Michigan is going to win a bunch of games.

Michigan played well, surprising vme because I saw them early in the season and they looked terrible. But Beilein is s great coach and he's gotvthem playing well, even w/out Levert in the line up. I also don't think Levert is much of a game changer because he'll take shots from other shooters who are playing well right now. Heard something that Levert may be out for the season. Hope not, he seems like a nice kid.

I was impressed by Mich also. Seem pretty deep, share the ball, great shooters, well coached.

That said...they were hitting unbelievable shots there, for a stretch, that is tough to reproduce. But, three point shooting teams most often hit a few "dead zones" in a game...as did Mich.

And, they were on the edge of being down 20+ and being buried a couple of times, including the start of the game. Iowa sputtered a bit then and Jok was off, etc...but it was close to being over, early, and later.

I was most impressed with Iowa, after starting 11-0, being somewhat "in control" and then falling behind by a point (I forget exactly) and then coming back, aggressively...and gritty. Uthoff in the first half and Jok in the second half...those are two tough shooters to keep a lid on, for an entire game. All in all...a great team game...MG, Whitie, Baer...and include Uhl in the two players above who are tough to keep a lid on. He is kind of becoming an enigma player...great shooter with an "odd" shot...that one is lured into thinking...naaah, this guy won't shoot it from three, will he?

They will be tough to be in Ann Arbor...all things being the same.

I wish I could, but I can't agree with this statement. We had so many clutch shots go down, and upon review of the stats, they were only 10-28 from 3, below their average %-wise. It felt like they were well over 50% while I was watching.

Great win for the Hawks, and I think Michigan will end up near the top of the league. When Levert comes back...look out!

Michigan played great and Iowa did as well. Both teams played well and had their runs during the game. The key was Iowa's shooters were able to hit "key" 3's when Michigan when on their runs.

I was impressed with the defense of both teams and the ability to change it up.

Return match-up in Ann Arbor could be a good one. Last game of the season, could be a tough one, seeding might be on the line.

Iowa had a chance to end this one early and missed allot of make able shots and gave up some easy ones that were pretty unusual.

They also figured out a better matchup with the small quicker lineup.

Could they win the rematch? Of course but I don't see it. To me it comes down to them being very one dimensional and really just not as good as Iowa.

Belein is a very, very good coach and always is a class act. If not FM, he would be one of my top choices as a coach. Walton has an excellent floor game, but last night was hot beyond the arc. Never seen him do that before and I watch 80% of all BIG games.

Michigan is a dangerous team - they have a lot of weapons. Iowa needed to play well to win that game. I don't look forward to the rematch..

So, no seniors in Michigan's starting 5? They're going to be GOOD next year.

Experience is an advantage we have utilized. Mich impressed the hell out of me. Not sure how a young team would play in a close one....

Yesterday was the first time I've seen Michigan this season and they are very impressive in the flesh. Much quicker and better shooters than I expected. They are well coached and responded tough to the crowd.

This was a very good win. Mich really impressed me. They brought their A game and Iowa still won. They certainly made Iowa work for that win and the Hawks played very well to win it.

I was impressed with Michigan as well. I was more impressed with Iowa's resilience to weather storms and surges by Michigan and still win by +10
