Michigan Pulls 4 Star OL Scholarship...Has Iowa Interest

douche move...by a douche coach...at a douche program....why is anyone surprised?

Not that I disagree with what you are saying however a lot of these kids do the same thing to the schools. Remember Higdon last year. Don't hate the player hate the game.

It does go both ways. However, for the kids it is the biggest decision of their life at that time. For schools the scholarship is just 1 of 75 available. It's a much bigger deal for the player than the school.

During its heyday, Michigan was greatly respected for being a class program representative of the best of college football. Now they're lavishing a fortune on Harbaugh, who represents a new breed of cat disinterested in the school's history of integrity. He'll do whatever it takes to succeed, regardless of what is means for a few meagerly high school kids standing in line to feed the college football profit machine.

Still upset about losing your RBack? Pathetic. Kid wanted to go elsewhere and you resort to calling 〽️Ichigan sleazy? Sounds like sour grapes to me. Michigan football is very appealing to many kids...your comments are quite uninformed and just plain ignorant. Did you know this kid has NEVER been on an official to Michigan?

You should know all about being uninformed and plain ignorant, because that is ALL you have been in this thread.....JH is a classless POS who is as sleazy as they come and just flat out stupid for wanting to stay in a recruits house like that, really just sad for MI that he did it.

Have never, ever liked Harbaugh. From the crybaby crowd noise thing at Kinninck when he was in college, to the tantrums he threw while on the Bears (cannot believe Ditka never kicked his ass) to his sideline antics as a Coach.

He may very well bring Meeeeeeeechigan to public enemy #1 status, replacing O$U.

Took all the credit for the play of Jake Rudock, too.
harbaugh is a putz

I agree with you. Michigan used to demonstrate at least the perception of dignity, grace, and style. Harbaugh is trashing that. I could see if he was at some school like Kansas or Iowa State and was trying to jump start a program. You know some people at Michigan are taking notes of his borish behavior for when he becomes too much of a distraction. His ego is out of sight.

In my uneducated opinion I like how he finished plays, but looked like a fair bit of holding and while they got him out in space it looked like it was his size and not feet or technique that won battles for him.

Harbaugh has been pretty successful where ever he's been as a head coach so hard to question with how he does it. Right now it's just JH being a quirky successful head coach. Someday his tactics may get old and Michigan might have to cut him loose like Indiana did to Bobby Knight. I look for Harbaugh to go back to the NFL before that happens.

He wore out his welcome at his previous stops pretty quickly...

If all one values is success, then, yes, one should not question his antics.

I'll give Harbaugh a little credit with how he handled the Matt Falcon recruitment..Kid was a 4 star rb out of Michigan. He verballed to Michigan. He tears up his knee multiple times. Harbaugh told him he could come to school on a full ride, but because of the series of devastating injuries, he recommends that he doesn't pursue a football career..Kid still wants to play football, so he is currently verballed to WMU..Harbaugh could have simply dx'd the kid and not offer him a free education at the U of M.

Iowa has done similar things for kids in the past-Khahari Stewart being one of them...

Good point ! I still nothing wrong with a coach looking for that best 85 he can get.

I agree to an extent, but there comes a point when it's so close to signing day that it is unethical to pull a scholarship offer, and this example pushes those limits.

Further, if a scholarship is pulled this late in the process, the head coach should reach out to the player himself, explain the situation, and apologize.

I don't know this for a fact, but I doubt Ferentz would ever do what Harbaugh did for a couple reasons. First, I think Ferentz is a more compassionate person (and in some ways, Harbaugh's lack of compassion might help him be an even better coach). Secondly, even if a coach is not compassionate, it is most often in his own best interest not to screw over a recruit like this because it will hurt his reputation when recruiting in the future. At Michigan, Harbaugh probably doesn't have to worry about this much because there will still be dozens of high caliber recruits dying to go to Michigan. However at most schools (like Iowa), if the coaching staff gets a bad reputation it is going to be hard to convince recruits from out of state to come play for them.

Sorry if this has been discussed previously, but wouldn't an Early Signing Date eliminate some of these issues of both sides (recruit and school)? I believe that Ferentz has been a proponent of this in the past...

I was first thinking Michael Jackson, but those kids might have been too young to recruit so Sandusky it is.

I'm getting the distinct impression that some Football fans don't 'love' Jimmy, the way that
ESPN and other media dolts love jimmy...........LOL

So he goes to class with the kids, He climbs tree's for them, He sleeps over at their house, What's next, Prom date?

He's making an a$$ out of himself and his university. Just wonder how long the people in charge puts up with it til they talk with him. Easy to see why he wears out his welcome wherever he coaches at. Michigan really had to be desperate to win again after the statements he made about the school's athlete/academics situation as illustrated in the link:
