Midwest strip clubs - is that a real thing?

A buddy and I went to a club in our early 20's during the day. Got right up there next to the stage. The place was pretty empty except for the man directly across from us who was a former teacher of ours in high school.

He had to have been super embarrassed as I'm 100% positive he would have recognized both of us. LOL

I don't know who Teace the Tease was, but I do remember a few unfortunate evenings at So-Co from the mid-90's.
I went to so co once. We were the biggest nerds there. I recall there were pit like stages. I was pretty sure we were going to get stabbed. The amusing thing is I think that town is called Mt. Joy.

My friend had his bachelor's party at Hooters in Des Moines. So so awkward seeing him and his father ogling fat chicks from Drake in uncomfortably tight shorts.

It is indeed Mount Joy. Whenever I was there I looked far and wide for Joy, but she always seems to be out of town.:p

They're completely overrated and should probably best be avoided once you reach your mid-twenties in age. I went to one in Northfield, Minnesota one time with my FIL and his brothers. Boy was that awkward.
This is why i preferred the Amateur Nights in Iowa City. It was college girls going wild for a night, and not the 30 something meth head that needed money to pay for their kids/drug habit.

I’m probably the only guy ever whose wife got pissed that I didn’t want to go to a strip club. We were hammered and I knew how she would react if I had chicks on me. Her friends all went but we stayed home. She slammed a door so hard it broke. She also thanked me the next morning in an extreme stripper way, so I made the right decision.

Gulfport, IL deserves a mention. At one time it had 4-5 (maybe more, at times) strip clubs. Per capita it had to have more strip clubs than just about anywhere else.

How do you post a pic from your camera roll? I’d like to show you guys a pic of a dancer I used to date.

I do not ever remember thinking "I want to go to a strip club", but I've ended up at a few.

Non-alchohol place in DT Minneapolis had the hottest cast I've ever seen, circa 1993. There was one gal, fully nude and spread eagle, and I couldn't take my eyes off of her face. Still the best looking woman I've ever seen. East Dubuque was the opposite end of the spectrum, but I ended up there a few times, as well.

I was at a bachelor party at Cruising Chubbies and watched the second half of Iowa vs. ISU in September of 2002. I wanted to be anywhere else in the world that had a tv. Bad times.

This is probably a Hail Mary, but back in the very early 1980s a friend and I were driving around drinking a few beers late one night and we ran across a strip club just outside of Des Moines on NW 6th Drive, essentially straight south of Saylorville a few miles. I believe it was called BJ's Hitching Post. It became our regular dive hangout for a few years. The building it was in looked 100 years old, but damn did we have some fun with the dancers and the motorcycle club types that frequented that place.

Was this all just a series of spectacular wet dreams I've convinced myself were real events or does anyone else from HROT recall this place existing? Yeah I'm old...
It was indeed a place.

Haha, talk about awkward! Reminds me of this time in 홍대셔츠룸 when I ran into my old math teacher at a club. It was surreal seeing someone from my high school days in that setting. We made eye contact, both frozen for a moment, then just burst out laughing. Turns out, he was there for a friend's bachelor party. Small world, right?

The Lumberyard hosted a Ms Nude USA(I think that is what it was called) competition back in the early-mid 2000s. My buddy got tickets from a DJ friend and I think we spent like 8 hrs in there that night. I recall it was a good show.
