Mike Gesicki taunts Hawkeye Fans after the game.... Did I see this right?

As the Pedo State players were leaving the field Saturday night I noticed a large number of our fans in the SE corner remained in their seats.

It appeared to me from across the field that Gesicki was taunting our fans just before he went into the tunnel. Did I see that right? And was it him or another pedophile?

There was quite a reaction from our fans and I assumed they were giving it back pretty hard. I also thought I heard a player may have apologized for post game behavior.

SIAP, but just curious if anyone on HR was in the SE corner and witnessed this close up. Looked like they have it to the tool Franklin when he departed as well. Perhaps McSquirrelly apologized for something else.

Last question: I wondered if Gesicki was getting even with our fans for the stuff they heard all night from fans sitting right behind the Pedo State bench. Was anyone there with first hand info? My guess is that it got pretty bad because it appeared we were getting in their heads.

Thanks!!

Obsess much and then make up nonsense?

I'm sorry but I will always refer to them as pedo state. When you have this big of a corrupt infraction then the name will live forever. Program should have been shut down. Big Ten was spineless.

Aside from being an imbecile and liar you =

I'm sure hoping in the not too distant future we can talk about PSU without bringing up "Pedo" and "Pedophile"

Everybody is aware what happened and it has nothing to do with this coach, this team or administration.
I agree. It's getting old. Remember we had a WR running a drug house. Doesn't make us a pharm team. We had a couple players sexually assault a coed. Doesn't make us Rapist U. There is no one on their team who was involved with that. There isn't a University out there that hasn't had some issue.

Respectfully Wingman, there is quite a difference here.

Your administration and head coach put football over kids because fans demand it.

More nonsense. You’re as bad as the psu idiots here who post videos from that night job Ziegler. And this is coming from a guy who believes Joe knew what mike was talking about and the three did a very deliberate slow play hoping it would go away. With the help of Harmon.
The fans didn’t know , a select few knew about this . Those that didn’t handle it right. And by mishandle I mean deliberately.
People just don’t want to believe their guys did something wrong which I understand .

I'll give you this, when our guys screw up I don't want to believe it either.

Have you ever remained seated when everyone else stood? I have. I can tell you it isn't an action, it's a deliberate inaction. Have you ever remained silent and still while others clapped? Again, not an action, but inaction. Hell giving you a softball have you ever stood up and remained silent when other stood and did an action?

When custom and tradition involve doing an action doing inaction is one thing. Deliberately doing an action that calls attention to yourself-- and later justifying it as you making a statement, We're floating awfully close to disrespect. How close or far is a matter of debate, but it's undeniably a deliberate action.

Now you may or may not label it as an act of contempt, in fact, you may believe down to your toenails, you are sending a specific message and doing it for noble reasons. But you don't get to control how your actions are received and interpreted by the people who hold those traditions dear.

That’s all I’m getting at, many fans don’t want to believe the worst . It’s a few that are delusional sick tickets who think it’s all a conspiracy and Jerry is innocent .
Most folk either think like I do or think they made dumb mistakes . And I think that’s more or a rationalization because of an allegiance, not some malicious intent .

I was in a community meeting once and a good friend of mine was being verbally assaulted. He's a great guy and he was not there. The group was organized to get him fired.

Anyway, I stood up and defended the hell out of him. After all, he was my good friend. As it turned out, he was guilty as hell. It was a good lesson for me to have learned and though it happened years ago I am still reminded of it by a few folks.

I agree with your points.

Loyalty has its shortcomings.

LOL of course the fans didn't know. But fans create an unhealthy culture that prioritizes football.

Question for all you people who want PSU, it's current staff and students, and fans to suffer miserably for eternity:

Since you all still harbor such intense feelings, surely you're making efforts/contributions/etc. to help and assist with the victims/families/etc. of these crimes and similar ones like it?

Let us know what you have done, either great or small, since this scandal, or even before, TO HELP.

Thanks.

I'd like to see us stop using those terms as well.

That said, their fans had an extremely large role in creating the culture that led to dozens of kids getting abused. Those fans are still there. If they are going to refuse to accept any responsibility they should be kicked out of the conference. No one really cares about them anyways.

So you are saying that Penn State fans are responsible for Jerry Sandusky molesting children? I'm a life long Penn State fan who has lived in Arizona since the mid 1980's. I can assure you, that I did NOT know about Jerry Sandusky, and had NOTHING to do with Jerry Sandusky. I can also assure you that my friends and family, in both Arizona and in Pennsylvania had no knowledge of Jerry Sandusky, nor did any of us encourage Jerry Sandusky to molest children.

Your comment is careless, foolish, and inaccurate, at the very least, and moronic at the very most.

Holy hell, an honest, accurate, and correct post. And notice, 50 likes and going strong. Well said IC Hawks. Thank you for having common sense.

No, Sandusky being a pedophile caused him to molest kids. Penn State fans being crazy caused people to look the other way and allowed him to molest many more kids than he should have. You don't have to look any further than their message boards or the general sentiment in their fan base to understand this.

So, Penn State fans are crazy, and cause people to look the other way at child molesters? You do realize how insane you sound?

Do you honestly believe that the football culture was not the primary driving force behind the crimes committed by your administration?

You sound like you’re not all there. I personally don’t care about their excuses or motives. It could be as simple as keeping their jobs and positions .
From my understanding cover ups are very common as in almost always .
Culture is a ridiculous excuse made up by you to shift blame on a fan base, not those who were responsible.

I am a Hawkeye fan. I was born at University of Iowa Hospital. I am a UI alumni in Biology and I work for the U of I. I grew up on Iowa football and wrestling and I am a die-hard Hawkeye. If the Penn State situation happened at Iowa, I would still be a die-hard iowa fan and attend meets and games. I do not support pedophilia. I have 2 boys of my own whom I was very protective of while they were growing up. In no way would I be responsible for an assistant coaches crimes against children or any cover up and it would be absurd for fans of others teams to accuse me of such or berate me for supporting my team. The goal for all of us should be preventing and reporting child abuse. Harassing Penn State fans for continuing to support their teams will do NOTHING to stop child abuse. If anything it is a distraction from focusing on things which could actually bring about positive change. It is way past time to move on from the Penn State scandal. The perpetrator is in jail where he belongs. We should continue to pray for the victims for healing and let Penn State fans be what they are, fans.

i sit in the se side of the stadium and what he did was indeed taunting fans. he was grabbing his crotch at the fans as he was leaving the field totally classless

Let me answer this as simply as I can.

Joe Pa took great care in working with young boys and turning them into fine, upstanding men. He called it the "Grand Experiment". His aim was that the word student in student athletes came first. He aspired to increase the graduation rate of our athletes with a 3.0 GPA or better. He would bench star players for the slightest infractions; poor test grades, skipped classes, truancy etc... His strength of character and leadership instilled values, morals and leadership skills to the athletes he coached. He most certainly never looked the other way.

For a coach who was willing to bench a star player at the risk of losing a game, does that sound like someone who put football above all else?
Those who knew Joe (players, friends, colleagues) speak highly of him and hold him in the highest regards. They know this man's strength of character. He could have gone and coached in the pros but at the last minute decided to give up the considerable salary increase in order to stay in Happy Valley. Again, money meant nothing to him, a testament to his strength of character.
He donated a good portion of his salary back to the university for the betterment of it; again, strength of character.

This man took a lifetime to build his legacy only to have it destroyed by a runaway media that was looking to sell copy with a false and misleading narrative. Worse yet, the very institution that Joe devoted his life to threw him under the bus by firing him without merit in order to save their very own skin.
Those at PSU, who knew JoePa are forever indebted to him for all the good that he had done at the university. It wasn't about football. It was about producing the very fine athletes who later became great men, husbands, fathers and leaders in their communities. THAT IS OUR CULTURE.

Sounds reasonable. I dare you to go post that on your PSU board. Actually don't, we both know that wouldn't go very well. Whatever happened, JoePa had a pretty big role but there are a lot of people that would like to blame anyone but him.

While I agree with this sentiment, I still think the Penn State football program got off rather lightly on sanctions/reduced scholarships, etc. I didn't support the "death penalty" to their program (i.e., what happened to SMU), but to see their football program return to their current level of strength in such a relatively short time is kind of disappointing to other programs that haven't encountered such despicable issues.

Thank you.

1. "Culture" - You have no idea what you are talking about. Read the Freeh report...not the summary, but the report. Read the AG statement. Listen to the FBI investigator. Absolutely nothing was done wrong by paterno or the admin. Sandusky is a scum bag. end.of.story. Joe Paterno made his whole career and the culture of PSU on the basis of putting football secondary to the well being of people and turning them into productive members of society...People better than you frankly.

2. "No one really cares about them anyways." First off, Good grammar. 2nd, you're from Iowa. You think anyone in the B1G or the country cares about Iowa? Funny
