Just another example of Indiana arrogance. He came in (similarly to Scott Frost at Nebraska) and expected that because he was "an Indiana guy" and he had coached in the NBA (.463 winning %) he would just dominate. He would bring Indiana back to its "rightful place" among the elite in college basketball.
Unfortunately for the Hoosiers, turns out he is not a bad coach, but just another non-difference maker coach. Same as he was in the NBA.
