Did you say Ash should get minutes or did I miss understand? Ash=Bad
He said that in a lot of games that he should get Austin Ash type minutes. Meaning little to none.

I feel better now 😊👍I was joking.
Not trying to be overly negative, but I was happy when Perkins picked up that 2nd foul early. JT got extended minutes because of that.Agreed. IMO this was Fran's best job this year with respect to managing minutes and substitutions.
IMHO Tony is so much better coming into the game after sitting. He just takes it up a notch. He seems tentative as a starter. Not trying to be overly negative, but I was happy when Perkins picked up that 2nd foul early. JT got extended minutes because of that.

we looked our best when these 5 were on the court

If Kris could just knock in all the bunnies he's missed this season, and cut down on the tickytack fouls, he would be another force like Keegan. No reason to believe that Kris Murray will be less productive than Keegan .... similarly explosive and athletic. I think he may be a better rebounder, just needs more minutes to get to the same level of production as Keegan IMO.
When Keegan goes pro and we move Kris into the lineup in Keegan’s position watch out. He’s going to dominate. If Kris could just knock in all the bunnies he's missed this season, and cut down on the tickytack fouls, he would be another force like Keegan.
FIFY...Of note:
Kris 27 mins
Joe 22 mins
Ulis 17 mins
I hope that trend continues. Since rotations have frequently been a source of controversy with posters on the Iowa BB board, I think credit should be given where it’s due.
I’m sick of hearing about Connor’s “toughness.” Tough isn’t exiting games as if you’re dying or continually whining to the refs. Real revelation is Kris should get Rebraca’s minutes.
I thought (?) we had our biggest run with Ulis in there (Ulis/Joe at G together)we looked our best when these 5 were on the court

Not when asked to always guard the 5. Games like osu where there is no real 5 he won’t be as likely to foul. Fran has to get him in games where the other team has a real 5 and play him elsewhere.Kris fouled out in 14 minutes against MI. He pretty much controls his minutes with his play.
Iowa doesn't have a real 5. He'll always be replacing someone who spends at least part of their time guarding a post player, at least this year, so he'd better get used to it. The other forwards have. Not when asked to always guard the 5. Games like osu where there is no real 5 he won’t be as likely to foul. Great game for sureSo Fran knows what he's doing?
Weird.
Kris has to do it exclusively, so I guess he’s pretty much gotten use to it. In reality he’s a small forward.Iowa doesn't have a real 5. I think we have to get creative in finding Kris more minutes. You are right in that we dont have much height/girth to defend the 5. Rebraca is servicable, but should be limited to 15-20 minutes most games, largely to avoid putting too much pressure on Murray's and risk committing too many fouls. In reality Kris, Keegan and PMac are small forwards with the way the handle the ball al shoot it. But all 3 are capable of guarding 3-5. All 3 will struggle with true big men, as will Rebraca, but Rebaca has been doing it longer so he is better at it.Kris has to do it exclusively, so I guess he’s pretty much gotten use to it.
