Mitzi Gaynor has passed away

One thing that hit me very hard when my dad died in 2014 was how quickly the whole thing was done. He died, we made arrangements over the course of a few days, arrangements took place and it was all over. We had lots of family and friends that visited and came to the funeral over that time, but when the funeral was over, it was back to regular life. The sun came up, people went back to their lives and dad was in the ground. I couldn't help but wonder "is this all there is"?

When I see a post like OP's it just makes me think about this gal, who was left, who was there and did anybody care?

Sorry to be morbid!

CSB.

No. That is not all there is. Just keep telling his story, brother.

It's getting worse. Now funerals are optional.

Yea, after we pass the world moves on without you. I think that after somebody I know dies.

Yea, after we pass the world moves on without you. I think that after somebody I know dies.
But to flip that upside down, think about it this way.

The world is a freight train that won't stop with or without you. We have a limited time to enjoy as much as we can and make as much of a positive impact as possible. Make sure you enjoy it. As Ferris said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Four years ago I faced my mortality for the first time as an upper 30-something family man. Cancer diagnosis, surgery, and radiation treatment. Going through that before the age of 40 really opens your eyes and gives you a new perspective on how to live life.
