Nice story from the NY Times about a group of MLB players and execs who are currently touring Cuba. This group includes four defectors from Cuba who have been allowed back into Cuba for the first time. It's touching to read about White Sox slugger being reunited with his son for the first time since he defected in 2013.
The future of players being able to move more freely to the US to play is unclear, but I do cheer this movement. Though Cuban censors tried to control the local access and information going to the Cuban people I am sure they are not being successful. I am thrilled to see these exchanges and future ones like the possibility of the Rays coming down in Spring Training for a few games.

Maybe they can move the Marlins to Havana...
I would like to see MLB move one team overseas. There was a lot of talk of one to Mexico a few years ago. I think the security qualms were overblown. Mexico City could handle a team population wise. I don't think Cuba works, though it would be neat to perhaps schedule some MLB games in Cuba or the DR. You just could not support a MLB team with the needed ticket prices and revenue streams overseas right now.

Thanks for posting this, say what you want about Obama, but I was thrilled with his push towards normalization with Cuba.
