Jesus we are all melding into one poster. I was going to post something very similar.
The coldest air in your lifetime? What are you, 12 years old?
In early 80’s lived 7 miles NW of Newton. -33 actual temp. Honestly didn’t feel much different than 10-15 below.
The old farts are the ones who can and will tell you that these “Arctic Clippers” happen every year.
I hope Ted Cruz has tickets in hand to Cancun, and Abbott doesn't let as many people die as he did the last time.
Was in college with a big assed Die Hard in my car.
Jumped half the cars in the dorm parking lot.

You’re the last person on here who should be giving people crap about cold weather complaints/exaggerations.
Had my truck parked in corn crib with block heater plugged in.
Refs obviously affected by weather forecast.
Appears someone is going to struggle to make it to midnight.
I have pneumonia. I'm taking anything I can to try to get through it. If I lay down, it feels like I'm drowning in my lungs. So, no substances for me.

I was going to go in today, but I was afraid they would admit me on amateur night and I'd be listening to drunks / people that got in fights all night.
I would rather be miserable at home than in a crowded hospital that is noisy as all get out.
Thats weird. I felt like I could see signs / differences in the temps as it dropped 0 to -10 to -20 to -30.
e.g. nostrils sticking together when you inhale in the 0 to -10 but eyelashes start to stick in the -10 to - 20 range.
Maybe its because I was a kid, but I remember a whole hell of a lot of more blizzards and huge snow drifts than anything we see in Iowa anymore.
Used to get several freeze events in north central Florida each year. Lately it's been one or none.
They are as bad or worse as you are hearing. Do not hit an ER right now unless absolutely necessary....you won't get a room anyway.

Probably will still have some Vicodin and gummies though. For the body aches of course
I might take a gummie. Mostly because I need to get an appetite back. Not eating enough is not helping.

Anything lower than 10F all feels the same. Cold is cold. Sometimes God just likes to show-off.
