Trump isn't spending much money. He gets the valuable air time that other candidates have to purchase by making himself the topic of free coverage.

Performers get paid, they don't pay.

Every election cycle or so, someone seems to be able to come up with a new way to get voter attention or news media attention or internet attention or something. This is Trump's addition to the formula.

The question is whether he can keep it up. If the time comes when he really does need to spend a lot of his own money, what will he do?
