You have to love a competitive player, and Morris is more competitive than most. And overall, he might be right. KenPom rates Iowa State a better team, and the Cyclones are 6-3 to Iowa’s 5-5.
But Morris’ message gets diluted a bit when it come right after Iowa wins, not by a last-second shot or fluke, but by 14 points, 78-64.

I saw that Monte Morris was at the Final Four Semi Final game last night. I think he was getting the Allstate Good Works award. He was one of 3 Iowa collegiate receiving the award- the other two were Jeremy Deemer of Graceland JC and Angie Davison from UNI.
Maybe that was the big surprise he had in store for Hawkeye fans back in December, and why he had to wait so long to reveal it...

I was dreading that game. And then I saw his comments and thought that if the schools were reversed and an Iowa guy said those comments, we would lose and look stupid. It gave me hope and I was ecstatic him and long played like crap and we rolled them. And then he doubled down with the dumb comments after the game. Definitely was not his best couple of days.
