More disrespect...I hope the coaches are letting the players listen...

Nothing new here. I can't remember a time when the national pundits didn't discredit Iowa when they were having a great year. Maybe 1985 but I was just a kid then.

isn't CBS in bed with the ESS SEE CEE? makes sense why they would put out something that somebody said about any SEC west team coming into Kinnick and smacking iowa.

Unfortunately, any loss between now and the playoffs and they can say "I told you so". Even a loss in the first game in the playoffs and they will say that Iowa just doesn't belong with the big boys and that Ohio State was down this year (assuming that is who they would beat in the B10 CG).

The only way Iowa is going to win this beauty contest with the media is to either start blowing teams out by 30-40 points and/or put together a few great seasons, staying in the top 15 or so and don't have the years where they disappear of the radar for a few seasons.

Not sure of any team smacking Iowa, particularly in Kinninck, but I do believe there is not an SEC West team that couldn't beat Iowa.
This is not a slam on the Hawks, it is just more about the current state of college football. Very few match-ups guarantee a win.

I think all this disrespect is great fuel for our team.

Nope. Even then, it was #2 Michigan at #1 Iowa for the night game. And Michigan was a 1 or 2 point favorite, despite playing on the road vs. #1.

Not sure how many other times a #1 ranked team has been the underdog in a home game....

Don't understand why everyone has to respect what these people say. If they haven't coached or at least played college football they aren't worthy of any response to what they say. Any response makes them think what they say matters. F them.

At the he hotel I'm at this morning they had Gameday on and they were doing a segment on Iowa that seemed to last about 10 minutes. The volume was off so could not hear what they were saying but, judging from the graphics they were throwing up on the screen, I assume they were blasting Iowa as barely able to beat a D3 team.

Corso: Good team that stops the run, leads nation in fewest rushing TD allowed, very balanced offense, disciplined, doesn't turn ball over.

Herb: All you need to know is that if Iowa wins out and beats OSU or Michigan in CCG, they will be in playoff whether anyone likes it or not.

Desmond: Runs ball well and stops the run, wins TO battle and doesn't commit penalties. Best win was against an "undermanned" Wisconsin team. Won't find out anything until we play OSU in CCG (he used the word "exposed").

Also, someone (think it was Herbie) pointed out that we don't have an offense like Baylor or TCU. Corso also mentioned we and Bama are the only teams to have beaten two ranked opponents on the road.

You can just feel how much they loathe having to talk about us.

The butthurt is strong in this thread. Reasonable fans are not entirely confident that we can beat Minnesota to night. We SHOULD, but will we?
