In addition, Iowa has won 10 conference games in a row, dating to last year, for the first time since the 1969-70 season. Yes, that was 46 years ago.

McCaffery reminds me of Hayden Fry that way. When Hayden was informed about a long losing streak to say, Purdue, he just said that we'll dig up that snake and kill it. Well, McCaffery is starting to kill some nasty snakes. First win at MSU since 1993, longest Big Ten streak since 1970, and when was the last time we started the Big Ten 4-0? Fran is definitely the Man!

Fran has also won at every B1G venue now in his short tenure,,,, every freaking one (except Rutgers & Marylabd who we play on the road for the first time this year).

Absolutely. And also the four year senior class of Woody, Clemmons and Gesell is doing some pretty special things. They all have taken a lot of crap from the fanbase at different times but they are going to graduate having won 20+ games all four years, never having a losing B10 conference record, and really playing a huge role in putting this program back on the nation scene. You have to go back along ways to find a class that won as many conference games as this group will.

Definitely the turn around class. Mikey G is playing the role of "elite" point guard. In a fairly called game Mikey G would have taken 10-12 free throws, and will if he plays like tonight against less protected defenders. Ute has taken that next step and is clearly playing at MVP levels. AC is just one of those guys that just sticks like glue, gets loose balls hits few but big shots and adds toughness. Then, the real tough guy, Woody. That kid is so underrated. We have always played better defense with him in the game; his spacing is great. Does so many little things and will bang with the best of them. Should have shot a half dozen or more free throws tonight as well.

This is the best class since the Horner/Bruner/Thomas/Hansen and maybe better.

Lest we never forget, Hawks won 11 games the season before Woody, Mike and AC committed. We were only an NIT participant the year Ute left a FF team to return to Iowa. The story of this class is already the stuff of Hawkeye legend.
