Morgan Wallen says the N-Word

Never heard of him. Is he a reality star?
Just some good old’ boys, never meanin’ no harm 🙄

The country star and a group of buddies had just spent a night out in Nashville. When they arrived at Morgan's home at around midnight, they were extremely loud ... honking horns and talking loudly ... loud enough to piss off neighbors. One of the neighbors began recording the antics.

As Morgan appears to stumble toward his house, he tells someone to watch over a guy in his group. He says ... "take care of this "p****-ass mother******" -- and then goes on to say, "take care of this p****-ass n*****" ... before finally heading in.

Guy’s been trying to blowup his career for some time. Luckily his fans won’t mind.
Yup. His [country music] career was shooting straight up despite his drunken antics, but this pretty much killed it. Hope he made enough to live off the rest of his life because he'll now being playing in obscure bars in no-name towns while bagging groceries during the day.

PSA: When you never make that word part of your sober vocabulary, there's a pretty good chance it won't slip out in your intoxicated vocabulary.

UPDATE: Morgan Wallen net worth is estimated about $2.5 million dollars. <------------- he'd better invest it well.

I don't understand this whole mentality of cancel culture. I don't know his music but I have heard of him. If I liked his music, I would continue to listen to his music. Because the guy is a dirty bag (maybe) doesn't mean his music isn't good (again, hypothetically since I have never heard it) and why would I deprive myself not listening to good music?

Isnt there other good music you could listen to besides his?

Is someone trying to cancel him? This might be a bug not a feature for some of his yokel fans. 🙂

This will blow over in a week and if he starts touring this summer all of his shows will sell out. He's screwed up before and probably will again....young country fans love his music and this won't make a dent in his popularity w/ them.

Not excusing him at all but I’m not sure this is true.
I reference my extensive research from being around drunk idiots

It's only the most feared word in America. Everybody knows it. Of course it's going to have allure to an ornery drunken idiot. Why do you think some rebellious asshole teens are so fond of it?

I don't like cancel culture either, but isn't it just part of capitalism and a free market society?

Lady I work with came to tell me about this happening. I have no idea who this guy is, I guess with the pandemic the last year I don't pay attention to much outside my own bubble. XM radio and sports talk radio have taken over my life I guess.

It's country so he likely won't be canceled. The Dixie Chicks however said they didn't like the president and that sin was unforgiveable and they were canceled.

Of course there is. I do not understand the mentality of someone not listening to good music because the person who put that music out said something they don't like/agree with. Makes no sense to me.

Especially the woke crowd that probably gets excited when Michael Jackson comes on at the bar.

Nor should it. You are there to listen to the music you like. You're not there for a morality lesson.

You could argue it's part of a free market society for sure and I would agree with you. I don't think the people who 'cancel' people are a majority of society though. I don't think the woke crowd is the majority of society. I could be wrong. Just from my observation but I live in a place that, generally, isn't very woke (other than Austin which is woke enough for the whole state).

I am not getting the tie to capitalism, however.

Either way, I don't like it. You can like free market society and not like every part of it. Just like you can be a D or R and not like every part of the party. Or hell, even be a libertarian and not like every part of the party. Or any party for that matter.

I thought they were still around and even dropped the Dixie part of their name for fear of being cancelled for Dixie being racist and now are just "The Chicks". Which isn't that misogynistic? Or is it not if they refer to themselves as that but if a man did, then it would be?

Did he come up with the Dukes of Hazard theme song?

They are still around and playing but they are not nearly as big as they were before they made those comments.

I mean I used to listen to country and before they made those comments they where huge . . . certainly considered to be on the A list of country groups/singers. Then they made those comments and people got so pissed and overnight they were off the radio. And honestly I havn't listened to country for a while but I was listening til about 5 or 6 years ago and I can tell you they never really got back onto country radio.

Country music fans even now have not at all ever re-considered if they might have over-reacted to their statements.

And it wasn't like they were one hit wonders either. . . they had a lot of different songs on the radio. And they disappeared overnight.

"Canceling", at the corporate level, is a tool that can be used reasonably in a free market society. This is most appropriate with corporation-vs-public situations.

That said, it can be abused. And it's a lot more concerning amongst individuals... where it's largely not needed.

So true

Its pretty clear, its the intent behind the word that is problematic. This guy was not saying it to be derogatory or hateful. Black people dont really care when its used in cases like this. The problem is dumb white people can’t discern the right and wrong times to use it (eg when drunk) so Black people are like **** it, dont use it at all.

I'm pretty sure the woke crowd isn't his target audience anyway.
