I got to watch some of their game on TV last night. Newsom has the look of a 3-4 end. I don't see him playing OLB in Nubbie's system. Not gonna say I am glad he didn't choose the Hawks but he isn't in the same category of AJE.

How was his motor? He just looks like a project to me. Nothing against him other than he's going to be a no good stinking Husker, but he appears to need a lot of work.

He didn't look very impressive physically. He has the body of a DT prospect minus the upper-body mass required. I did not watch enough of the game to judge his motor.

I’m gonna throw this out there. Pure speculation. You’re not Reese Morgan are you?

1/2 a tackle...in a Iowa High School 3A game??? As Chad Johnson used to say.."Child Please".

I watched the game as well and wasn’t overly impressed. He’s certainly not strong enough and he’s slower than I remembered.

He might be a solid by his junior year.

Friend who coaches HS said he reminds him a lot of his recruiting is kind of like Christian French from Kennedy who went to Oregon. You watch his games and scratch your head expecting the kid to dominate more put up better #s. Was not first team all state last year in 3A. Both have lot of potential and intriguing cause of size and athleticism for next level to mold into something but not a guy you’d expect to contribute first 2-3 years and definitely a red shirt.

Some guys have the measureables and look good for the future but don't show it on the field. You can offer them figuring you can build them up, improve their game, but you aren't all that disappointed if they go elsewhere.

We offered an in-state kid who went to UN, maybe it stings. Some guys we don't offer turn out to be pretty good. Julian Good-Jones is turning out to be a pretty good OL for the clones, in hindsight I wish Iowa had offered him. But recruiting is an inexact science.

Absolutely ... Good-Jones definitely has turned out to be a good one.
