Themat forum board has become dominated by borderline nutjobs who just all happen to be PSU fans - Hurricane, Flying Tigs, Lemonpie, TBar, Cletus, Mopar. Being a PSU fan is their right, but they go out of their way to post garbage about Iowa wrestling.
Lemonpie's specialty is starting a post about an Iowa wrestler who loses, with the content consisting of "ha ha ha ha" - real quality stuff. Mopar excels at gibberish. Hurricane is more an opposition research guy, digging up old articles, posting video captures.... all designed to make the Iowa guy look bad. He once posted a picture of Paul's discount store with a poem to ridicule Slaton after a 99 cent shoplifting incident (inadvertent according to Slaton). He also has tried to rewrite history regarding Gable's record. Cletus is suzie, with a new name and slightly less profane.
Scribe is a Cornell guy, and not an Iowa fan, but okay by me. He also has a sense of humor about things.
You could not be more correct about Hurricane. He is the epitome of 'opposition research guy'. It's so ridiculous that it's actually funny at times.
I'm going to be there. I'll be wearing, blue jeans, yellow pull over hooded sweatshirt with IOWA on the front in bold black letters, and, a black cap with IOWA on the front. You don't have to tell me what your wearing. Your smell will lead me to you. I'm convinced I'll be there. Your not worthy of another post. Hope your husband lets you go.

Just in case you don't have any familiarity with what success smells like, I will be wearing a pink v neck t-shirt with "LAMBERTT IS MY IDOL" in big white letters on both the front and the back. Scribe is a hit and run douche. As for that Motley Crew you spoke of, I feel your pain re: most of them. That board is near unreadable right now.
Interesting perspective. A guy starts an account specifically to insult me and then intentionally hides himself in the crowd while adding another couple insults. Instead of getting confrontational I completely make fun of the situation. That makes me the nutcase? Again, very interesting perspective.

Is lack of reading comprehension a pre requisite to being a PSU fan that posts in forums? I never once said I was going to fight anyone. In fact I was going to wear a pink t shirt. My fighting days are done. Also, totally hypocritical calling out someone's character while bringing their family into it. Luckily, my wife and daughter don't know you cuz they would probably be the one fighting and inevitably whooping your behind.
Lambutt and liontard8286 are the same people. They are also very likely one of the "good" psu posters on here.
I can safely say that MSU has been respectful and brought good conversations to this board. But, I'm still a nube so my opinion may not count that much.

Although this topic doesn't bother me(I find it very entertaining) I apologize to those of you that don't want to read this drivel. I have a hard time with some of the anti-Hawkeye topics on themat because you guys aren't represented well over there. They are topics I think the best Iowa fans should be able to properly defend and that is why I brought some of it over here.
For instance,
1.) A writer of one of the biggest Internet sites for DI wrestling writes a very disparaging article about Gilman.
2.)Outlandish PSU over Iowa content.
3.)The PSU contingent has gotten so out of hand that my patience has worn thin...............
There is a ton of stuff on there that is garbage and I wouldn't bring it over here. But, this board has the most DI wrestling knowledge of any(indisputable) and I sometimes want to get insight from you.
For instance,

As others have said - if we want to see what's going on at the mat forums we'd go to the site and jump in the sewer with the other rats. Ive learned to stay away as its a bunch of crap for the most part.
I understand what it means now regarding the cult that is Penn State but their wrestling program has its own weird little branch of the cult that is nuts - my apologies to the handful of decent PSU wrestling fans. I know every fan base has some idiots but the majority of their wrestling fans are a strange group. It seemed like we had a year of mostly decent PSU posters on this site but that's seemed to change this year - hmmm wonder why that is?
I'm not trying to be judgemental but I've never understood the attraction for posting on an opponents board especially the negative crap - never done it and don't expect to anytime in the future. I enjoy good wrestling discussion in general and for me this board is the best. The Mat forums, not so much.
