Murray twins impressing again

I don't pay one bit of attention to high school sports......
so is this top 10 in the district or state or do they have "national" rankings even for high school?
It says National, so I assume it's national obviously :)

They appear to be a good add to the core of Fredrick and Toussaint for the next 3 years.

Add in Patrick to the mix as well.

Fran told Kenyon Murray that his 2 sons are better than the 4 star recruit that ended up at a Georgetown. Can’t remember the recruits name.

These two guys are convincing me they really are D1 material and just might be two of the biggest steals in the Fran era.

That recruit's name I believe would have been Jamari Sibley. We were recruiting Jamari and his choice came between Iowa and Georgetown. I'm happy that Fran offered scholarships to the Murray's. They will be a great fit in the program.

Jamari Sibley...watched him at the Wisco state tourney...not impressed...never got it with him.

Patrick will never play basketball again..if the kids body after 5 years can't function right with top tier docs at UI hospital and a family where money as far as care is not a concern...I just don't see it happening

that's kinda what I'm thinking, but we'll see.

If he can't contribute next year, I'd hope Fran pulls his scholly to use on someone who can!

Nobody asked you. He's practicing with the team and is taking a redshirt, he'll be playing next year.

Pretty cool if true. Many here were pretty high on Sibley. I have no doubt that these guys have the fundamentals. Only question of mine at this point is: do they have the lateral quickness to play quality defense, and athleticism to get their own shot when needed?

I don’t think Fran would pull the trigger on them unless he was sure. Two place fillers for the same position. On top of that, a pair of twins might bring more to a team than two stand alone recruits. They have years of experience together and will add to the family dynamic of the team. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that one of Frans best teams has two sons on the bench.

Keegan and Kris could be the real deal. Apparently they were late bloomers, which is why they didn't have other offers. Looks like they are playing well at the prep level. Good to see. I'm keeping my expectations in check for now, but I'm feeling a lot better about them than when they were offered.

If Garza indeed sticks around for his senior season, and the Garza Work Ethic/Regimen rubs off on the rest of these guys.....LOOK OUT

Guys like Garza, who push the limits to up their game elevate the play of everyone around them, pushing the rest to follow that lead. That's how you build championship teams.

I recently watched a video from the 2018 season Iowa high school basketball, the twins vs Patrick Mac. The twins have really changed, big growth spurt, and have really filled out. I can see why they weren't rated at the time. If they keep progressing as they have in this past year, we are going to like!

It looks to me like Kenyon's sons are hard workers like their old man. They probably are really good defensive players as well, coached from small kids by a dad who could shut down top players. I'm pumped to have the Murrays on the team next year. We could also use their rebounding skills.

Dis gon' be a fun team to watch.

What probably excites me most, is the work ethic put in by guys like Garza and Bohannon; that set the "standard" for the rest of the team.

Garza, especially; that guy went from being a "good" 2nd/3rd Team All Big Ten, to being Nation POTY in one season. That kind of drive and work to add elements to your game invites others on the team to do the same.

While I don't want to dis Tyler Cook, as he was such a great player at Iowa, he is another of the line of very promising Iowa recruits, who seemed to hone existing skills, but never really developed outside the existing skills shell. Tyler was just a monster underneath, but could never develop that mid-range game and jumper to prevent guys from just sagging down to play the layup/dunk. And it's pretty much impossible to make the "next level" when you only have 1 or 2 strengths that you go to all the time. That works great in pick-up games, and can get you all-conference in college if you're athletic enough. But you'll get eaten alive at the next level, and really don't evolved into All-America caliber.

Garza has added SO MUCH to his arsenal compared to Fr/So years. It's crazy how many ways that guy can score on you - even the soft hands underneath, and footwork that is so overlooked. You get a teamful of guys who buy into that kind of "rebuild your game", and things get really really fun.

Really impressed by most of the play, all around today. Yeah, they were a little sloppy starting off, but even playing a little sloppy, they looked pretty solid.

They sure are identical! All I know is that one shoots with his right hand and one shoots left! Keegan will continue to impress for certain. I hope he and Kris will be team leaders some day.
