Don't know the impact but she did win several Division III titles but coudn't get it turned around at Illinois.

retired so as not to get fired. But the IL program has been in shambles for a while. Need a young coach and guarantee five years. Likely going to have to step outside the Chicago area for recruits and get creative to find some diamonds. Whalen at Minnesota needs to be fired. They lost another player to the portal and have been sub-par for a few years now.

Probably for the best, Why tarnish your HOF record further? She was one of, if not the best D3 coach ever, but she clearly didn’t transfer over to D1. After watching her coach ILL against Iowa during the makeup game, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to play for her!
