Going to Nashville in a couple weeks with some old college friends. Any recommendations on hotels/lodging? Also places to eat that may not show up with a simple google search would be nice as well.

I hear the Marriott at Vanderbilt is nice, if you bring a sticky note.

If not its OK you can make some serious bank staying there.

Reactions: The Tradition
The Gulch – Also in the downtown area, Yuppie area, nice new restaurants’. Has music at the Station Inn, Two Old Hippies and Sambucca.

East Nashville – Hispters. Good restaurants, Five points is a funky area, a former tough area of the city that is developing due to its close proximity to downtown.

Music Row – A section of town where all the recording studios are, close to the twelve south area

12 South – another cool developing area, not far from downtown. Nice restaurants, bars. Not as much music.

Downtown hotels are expensive, you can stay by the airport much cheaper and Uber it downtown.

A good online website that lists all music and events is the Nashville scene http://www.nashvillescene.com

Acme Feed and Seed is a new place and an OK place for bar food, nice roof top, good music. Lots of honky tonks downtown to choose from. George Jones is a new bar, great rooftop city view.

Check out Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network.

There has to be a dozen spots in Nashville.

Went there for a bachelor party this year -

We found hotels to be unnecessarily costly, so we got airbnb's around Vanderbilt - I recommend this route

Cabs will be tough to find, so be ready to use Uber

For a good activity, check out the Nashville Gun Club

For a good place to shit near Broadway, go in the back door of the Hard Rock, the bathroom is right there
