Do you refuse to do business with any company because of a bad experience with them?

The founder of the company I work for basically only drank Miller Lite.

He would bring everyone together at the Miller's Ale House for a team dinner the night before the monthly corporate meetings every month.

One night, he ordered a bucket of Miller Lite in the bottle and the waiter told him that they were out of Miller Lite. The boss told this poor guy, "There's a Publix across the street. They have Miller Lite. Go over there and get some. I'll make it worth your while."

The waiter refused.

That was the last time we ever had a team dinner at Miller's Ale House.
Sorry man, but this is absurd.

Your server was supposed to leave the restaurant, ignoring his other tables, because someone said it would be “worth it”? It was completely unfair to put the server in that position to begin with, let alone punish him/the restaurant.

Servers are told regularly that they’ll get a big tip or it’ll be “worth it” if they do something out of the ordinary, only to get nothing or very little extra. He’d probably been burned before and figured it wasn’t worth alienating his other customers to chase a mythical “big tip”.

Pricks and assholes come in all sizes, shapes and colors.

My DirecTV could go out in the bottom of the 9th inning of game 7 of the world series with bases juiced, and I would still be thrilled because I won't give another dime to Mediacom.

Yep Ace Hardware in West Des Moines. I've always used them for everything since they're like the small town locally owned spot.
Last year I rented a rug doctor from them, the next day I returned it and the kid said it was another $40 because it was 5 minutes late. I looked and they had 4 units sitting there. I was like "C'mon man obviously I didn't stop you from earning any money on this unit." He said "Sir, did you sign the contract? Ohh yep you did! It's $40!" I told him if he charged me $40 I would never come in there again. He charged me and I will never go back there ever again.

I once boycotted a prominent breakfast place for 2 decades over a series of haphazardly constructed sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches.

Sixt is a criminal enterprise. Go read their reviews and never rent from them. They have turned damage claims into an art form. Should be investigated and prosecuted. I watched the guy scrape the bumper with a metal claw and then take a picture of it as a damage claim. Told him I saw him do it. Argued with the bill that came later.for 1k to fix. Our in house counsel paid the bill and told me that no he would not storm the castle and burn them to the ground. Was cheaper to pay them. Go read the reviews. This kind of behavior isn't isolated for that company

I loathe Volkswagen and hope they go out of business due to their shady, shitty way of dealing with known issues. Back when they first came out with the Passat, I bought one new; it was sharp looking, handled great, had great pickup - loved everything about it...until I had a couple of issues that were extremely expensive to fix and that were caused by things that it became clear were design flaws, but that VW refused to accept blame for & left me on the hook for the cost of the repairs.

First issue was an "oil sludge" problem. Over time, sludge would build up and essentially cause the motor to burn up. A lot of mechanics pointed to a design flaw, a curve/bend in a line that was where the sludge built up and eventually caused the problem. After a class action suit, they refused to accept blame but did agree to reimburse for cost of the repair IF you could document that you'd had oil changed every 3000 miles; had to be able to prove that the oil change occurred prior to reaching 3000 miles, and had to have ORIGINAL receipts from a VW-certified mechanic. Oh, and they also changed the design of the engine to eliminate the problem area.
Second issue was a water leak. I'd parked on a hill, with the front of the car lower than the back; we had a massive downpour. When I went out to the car, there was about 3 or 4 inches of water in the floorboard of the passenger side. Unfortunately, the car's computer system is where....under the passenger side front seat, so it was shorted out. Brought it to the dealership to have it repaired, they said that the leak happened because the drain area over the passenger door was clogged from parking the car under a tree. They showed me the drain (both along the door and at the bottom, and said that it was clogged at the bottom, so the water backed up into the car. That damn drain line was roughly the thickness of the tip of an ink pen; it would take several days of steady flow of water through a hose that size to result in the amount of water that was in the car. A year or so later I found that there was another class action suit over a design flaw...if you were parked downhill, in heavy rain, water would back up in the battery box and spill over, into the passenger area of the car, flooding the passenger side of the floorboard. Again, they denied blame. And again, the next model of the vehicle changed the problem design.

Eff VW. I'm getting pissed just typing this. If their CEO gets executed in the next day or two...

I threw out my back at OP’s mom’s house a while back. Went to the ER and had to have emergency surgery. A few months later I get a letter from my insurance company saying they were denying the claim due to OPs mom being known to cause injuries to her sexual partners and the doctor forgot to write a few things down in their notes, pure technicality.

So I spent the next several months planning my revenge. I saw an opening to take street justice against their CEO. I rode up to his hotel, waited in the bushes, and when I saw the guy walk out, I ran over and shot him dead.

Geico insurance and my local greenhouse/nursery.
Terrible customer service bordering on incompetence from Geico. Poor workmanship and indifferent customer service response from the greenhouse.
Several restaurants I will not return to based on poor service, bad food, dirty premises, etc. If I get poorly cooked food or some problem with the service, I will say something. How they handle the complaint determines whether or not they will keep my business.

Kohl's. I got a blanket as a gift, and had a gift receipt. Wanted to trade it in for another size. Happily offered to pay the difference in price between the two. They said no, you got this on some kind of deal, so you have to pay the difference between that price and the current. Nope. I argued with them for probably 10 minutes before telling them to eff off and leaving. I'll never set foot in there again. I'm very fast to walk out on a business, friend, family member, anyone who does me wrong. Gone. Done. Never will speak to them again.

Nope, I don't eat at some places just because I don't think they have very good food but it's not anything they've done.
