According to Joe Lunardi/ESPN:

NC State was considered the 8th team out; they beat UNC for the ACC Tournament Championship

Oregon was considered the 7th team out; they beat Colorado for the PAC12 Tournament Championship

Teams like New Mexico, St Johns, Oklahoma and Virginia (considered the last 4 in) are probably very nervous.

March Madness (and Sadness) indeed.

Indiana St probably watched their bubble burst with those results, as well as Dayton not winning the A10T & New Mexico winning the MWCT.

New Mexico won the Mountain West, they have nothing to worry about.

That North Carolina St/North Carolina game was one of the best games I've seen all season.
What a gutty performance by the Wolfpack by winning 5 games in 5 day and answering North Carolina's runs all game.
What could have been the best thing about this game is that you could tell Jay Bilas was not happy that a team that had played 4 games in 4 days were taking down his beloved Tar Heels and he didn't try to hide his displeasure. I enjoyed every minute listening to him trying to explain during the game how this could happen. Loved it!

When you leave yourself in a position to be at the mercy of the bubble these things happen.

The conspiracy guy in me thinks why wouldn't a conference throw its tourney to pack the NCAA with an extra team if they know that they'll get that extra team in. This gives the conference more exposure and more $$$.

Jay Bilas played at Duke so if he was homering on NCarolina it was probably not out of love but because he probably picked NC in the game and couldnt believe what he was seeing.

So the 5 teams NC State played all list intentionally? And the Virginia game set up perfectly. Down 3 and the guy Moises a free throw and they hit a 30 foot shot at the buzzer to tie? Yep, sure thing. 😏👍

I watched a bit of the Oregon/Colorado game.

Not gonna lie; I wish we had the athleticism of some of those Oregon players. Will be interesting to see if Oregon makes some noise in the Big Dance.

For those who follow such things….the winner of the Bracket Matrix scored 355 points. Last year, the average score was 356.5. Last year’s winner scored 326 this year. The committee was off of their collective rockers this year.

Heading into the ACC Tournament, NC State had lost 4 in a row and 7 of 9. Their record was 17-14.

Even before the start of the ACC Championship game (their 5th game in 5 days) they were considered by ESPN as the 8th team OUT of the NCAA Tournament.

Those bastards have now won 9 straight and are 2 wins from a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! ;)

Their record has gone from 17-14 to 26-14.

March Madness, indeed.

That's insane to see their record balloon from 17-14 to 26-14.

Goes to show that although working all season for a good seed is the preferred route... Getting hot at the right time is what you need.

This is why the season that we ran through the B1G tournament was so damn disappointing. Playing the best basketball of the year and ended with a THUD.
