If you were to go and look at ESPN's BPI (Basketball Power Index), today,
Sunday, the geniuses at ESPN rank Ohio State at #12 in their Power Index.

However, when you look at the BIG10 Conference basketball standings, today, you find
Ohio State TIED for 9th place in the conference.

Think there's not a bit of BIAS at Espn toward the Bucknuts? Good grief.

They're rated highly in Kenpom and the NET as well. The metrics love them, doesn't really have anything to do with ESPN.

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard for a long time. If they track recruiting, then they also need to build in coaching quality - in-game and player development.

Including an entirely subjective component like recruiting rankings into a quality determination, two weeks before conference tournaments start, is pretty dumb, unless you're trying to manipulate media markets and promote specific programs. Then, its really smart.

No, it just tells me their methodology sucks in some cases. It has nothing to do with bias.

Do you think a 9 loss MSU is truly the 4th best team, or a 14 loss Purdue is the 21? There are 6 teams with 8 losses to more in the top 14. The rankings are a joke, but no bias.

No, you have splainin to do. Just because they are 9th doesn't mean they are 9th. They could be #1, 2, or 3.

well, a computer algorithm is nothing more than one person’s opinion on how teams should be ranked. While that might not mean that one team is favored directly, it’s hard to argue that hey are not in some way biased.
