Today the NCAA committee started their mock selection. I believe they do this once a week until selection Sunday.

Interesting that Iowa is still looked at as the #4 overall seed if the tournament started today and that they also had Iowa and ISU both in the west region. Another big thing was that they chose Monmouth over LSU as an at large bid. It'll be fun to see how this changes from week to week. Much more information and insight than any bracketologists predictions.

I saw this on Twitter last night right before the game. Are you sure it's been updated after last night's loss?

LSU has no business being in unless they can beat someone with a pulse. If they didn't have ESPN's love child Ben Simmons, they wouldn't be anywhere close to the field.

You can follow along on Twitter under #mockselection. I believe today is the first time this year that the actual tournament committee is doing this.

Here's the full field that was just posted that shows what all the possible match ups would be.

Isn't this the "let the media be the committee" mock thing, and not the committee members doing real (if early) work?

Yes. They moved Iowa from the third overall seed to the fourth during this morning's seed scrubbing; one vote from dropping to a 2 seed behind Oregon (who also lost last night.)

Oh man, this just reminds me how messed up this year will be as the Pac12 is going to be overrated because the played the RPI game well, but at least it makes it easier to pick my upsets.

So did the SEC. They made a very public decision to intentionally schedule tougher for RPI purposes. Smart move, but it's more lipstick on a pig than anything.

I dunno. I watched some Pac12 games and thought they were solid. Better than the SEC. Iowa being a 1 or 2 seed doesn't matter much to me. It's all about matchups and as always, I'll be hoping Iowa avoids super aggressive physical teams.
