Do you know the dates when regionals start?

@Alum-Ni they seem hell bent in sending Nebraska to Fayetteville. It’s good because you want to play in June, but I definitely want to avoid Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

Maryland takes two of three against Illinois and goes from last five out to last five in. Interesting.

It sure seems that way.....maybe its a regionalization kind of thing, but yeah, not crazy about the possibility of going to Fayetteville.

More realistically, probably paired for storyline reasons, the NCAA seems to do that a lot in basketball tournament. Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn was the skipper for Nebraska when the Huskers made their CWS runs in the early 2000s.

Oh I’m well aware. If the story line thing is true then Iowa would be paired up With #2 Indiana State if they were to make it in a regional.

A Big Ten host at this stage seems unlikely, done in by the conference's ever-tightening standings.

Call me crazy but I’d prefer for Iowa to get a #3 seed and play in Eugene rather than get a #2 seed and play in either South Bend or Fort Worth.

Eh it’s all about matchups and a little luck sometimes. Every team in the tournament is going to have a solid #1 pitcher. Then depending on upsets and what not is where thing can get crazy. Then of course you have a pitching staff like Vanderbilt.

Something to consider is that I believe this week the 20 regional sites are submitted and approved. So 16+4 potential alternates.

D1Baseball Week 12 Hosting / At-Large Stock Report

Hosting
The top three teams in the Big Ten -- Indiana (23-10), Nebraska (23-11), and Michigan (23-12) -- could all be in the hosting mix as well, but none of the three has created enough separation from the pack to distinguish itself as of this week, which means all three are likely to be omitted from the top 20.

At-Large Bids

Big Ten (5 bids)

Safely In:
Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska

On the Bubble (In): Iowa, Maryland

On the Bubble (Out): Ohio State, Rutgers

One change from last week: Maryland moves into our field of 64, making the Big Ten a five-bid league. Typical caveat here: the Big Ten is only playing conference games, so it is useless to compare their RPIs to teams from other conferences or to the typical RPI benchmarks necessary for at-large bids. All that matters here are the records and head-to-head results. The Terrapins won two of three on the road at Illinois to improve to 21-14, with a 4-1 record against Ohio State (18-14), a 2-2 mark against Rutgers (17-17), a 1-1 record against Michigan (23-12), a 1-2 mark against Nebraska (23-11) and a 1-3 record against Iowa (21-14). That head-to-head keeps Maryland behind Iowa in our pecking order, but the overall body of work is enough for us to put Maryland in the field of 64. Iowa is also in strong shape, as are the top three teams thanks to their winning percentages above .650.

Rutgers was the hot team after winning back-to-back road series at Michigan and Nebraska, but the Scarlet Knights gave back all of their progress by going 0-4 this weekend, with two losses to Indiana and two against Nebraska. At 17-17, Rutgers is back to seventh place in the standings and clearly has work to do down the stretch. Sixth-place Ohio State also has work to do, and it lost two of three to Rutgers earlier this year, but right now an 18-14 record is enough to put the Buckeyes a tick ahead of the Knights in our pecking order. A four-game sweep of Indiana remains the highlight of OSU’s resumé.
