Neat ESPN Article on Fry Legacy/83 Staff

That was an unbelievable staff. Snyder did a phenominal job, and when he left for Manhattan it was the start of the downhill slide with Patterson calling plays and running the offense.

Bill Snyder may very well be one of the greatest coaches in FB history. He helped turn around a horrible Iowa football program, then left to lead a worse program from the depths of a tall outhouse - and he did it twice.

Barry Alverez - 'nuff said.

Greatest coaching staff in history.

Yeah I would argue that Snyder is the greatest coach in college football in the last 50 years and maybe more. K-State had the worst P5 football history prior to his arrival (or one could argue that). Created a sustained level of success that would not have been believed, and came within an eyelash of getting his Michael Bishop team into the national title game. Will be interested to see what becomes of the K-State program after his 2nd retirement at some point in the future. The infrastructure to support football is much better than when he started.
