Well, we did beat Nebraska too.
Odd to see, but I think it's clear that Nebraska is playing harder than MSU. Izzo had better gear up another temper tantrum.
Izzo needs to relax a little every time down he is bitching about something his guys are doing or not doing...after awhile players start to not listen.

Nebraska has been playing A LOT better since Iowa beat them. Glad Iowa doesn't go to Lincoln either, it'd be a tough out. However, Iowa is a big matchup problem for Nebraska.

Mich St. goes down by one again! Good, now they can beat Maryland this weekend. 
I think there's something to that. When we went to Lansing they came out with this "we're focused so we can't lose" attitude (almost arrogance) and when we spanked them I think we may have knocked a little swagger out of them.

never thought I would see a MSU team have a look of fear...Izzo hasn't been much help either IMO..now he blames himself because he didn't take the "new rules" seriously & teach his guys?....no Tom you can no longer play under the 'they cant call everything' system. Mich St lost this game at the ft line.....missed around 10 fts. At the same time, they don't rebound like State teams of past years. Would be interested to see how many to's they had tonite too. Valentine is the only player producing at a high level.

what's crazy is they shot better from 3: 11-18 (61% )
They had 10 turnovers to Neb's 6
Neb shot 50% overall from the field to just 43% for MSU; crazy how Nebby feels so comfortable at the Breslin Center!

This is exactly right, but we need Sparty to toughen up and beat some of the other contenders.
Those kind of free throw stats indicate a team not 100% ready to play. In my experience a variance in free throw numbers comes either from a lack of true mental preparation or pressure. Turnovers and shot selection also fall into quick indicators.
Beyond that, MSU let Nebby, Shields specifically, get on a roll through soft defense; they couldn't even handle dribble hand off action.
