If they go in hawks can bury an opponent (isu, Indiana) if they don't go in Iowa can shoot themselves out of a game. See multiple atrocious losses.
The worse they shoot the lazier they get on defense , which is a foundational element of Frans teams for some reason. The more they miss the quicker they want to shoot 3s too.
Those are the main constants with this team.
It has very little to do with the opponent because Iowa will nearly always play bad defense but get plenty of open looks. Theres only a a few opponents that have dictated the game to Iowa, like Purdue and TCU.
The rest of the games have mostly been determined by how Iowa shoots 3s.
