Nebraska fans

The only real incident was a fan behind us got into it a little on the 4th and 1 fade. He thought it was PI and went on and on about it until I told him to stuff it.

We had more "Welcome to Nebraska"'s and pats on the back going into the stadium than we could handle! Then we got to our seats and had some jerk and his son behind us that obviously don't get out of their trailer too often. But all in all it was a good experience.

I think this is how most fans around the B1G are. I don't think I've ever been to a stadium where the opposing fans didn't flip me s***. It's part of traveling and it makes it fun. There's also almost always the fans that shake your hand or pat you on the back as well. Everyone once and a while you get the uneducated guy or the "my team is the only team that exists" guy. But all in all I've never been to a place where I've been extremely offended by fans.

I didn't agree with the booing on the Geary hit either. Not going to fault their entire fan base for this. I still remember when Colin Sandemann got knocked out in the "7 got 6" game and Michigan State fans around us were booing. Others were ashamed of them. Always going to get all kinds.

On another note, did anyone else see Turner kick Jewell?

Usually the actions of a crowd is based on if the team wins or losses. If they win they are very gracious and if they lose not so much.

YEs, saw Jewell get kicked - how the official missed it... curious. Players play how they are coached.

Crowd was fine, no issues. I was wondering why the city of Lincoln doesnt feel its necessary to salt the main sidewalks after an inch of ice fell the day before. People were going down left and right

Because it causes Armstrong to throw interceptions? Oh never mind.

I know every fan base has idiots and I do think this was probably not all that bad compared to other experiences. I just thought, man, these guys are so out of it. They really do live in the past. My friend, again a Nebraska fan, was embarrassed.

As a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, I truly understand the bold part of your quote!! The past is all we have at this point! :)

I copied the first 3 paragraphs for you. The rest of the article is linked.

It wasn’t out of the ordinary to see so much Iowa black and gold downtown before Friday’s game.

What was surprising was the amount that found its way into the stadium.

Memorial Stadium, which will always be dominated by red, had more opponent colors than in recent memory.

One Iowa fan had a close enough seat to hold an Iowa flag just above the tunnel before the Tunnel Walk. The HuskerVision cameras didn’t pick it up, but it foreshadowed how the game played out.

There was a very loud “I-O-W-A” chant that echoed through the concourse after Jordan Canzeri’s 29-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.

I have this answer. Usually there are plenty of funds to support this. However, I recently found out all the Memorial Stadium grounds keeping funds were diverted to make a generous donation to the Lincoln PD Investigations Unit so that they could have a kick ass Nebraska uniform themed Christmas Party

I have been to stadiums across the country and my two trips to Lincoln have been among the best. Maybe it was they had superior attitude figuring they were going to win. The last time I was at Kinnick, I watched two very large Iowa fans purposely pushing the visitors around.

Had pretty good experience at the Iowa-Nebraska game. 1st thing I noticed was the seating is very close. Fortunately I sat by a very tiny lady whose was a Hawk fan and my son-in-law who I didn't care if I got in his way. I now know how they get 90 thousand plus in that stadium. Most of the bitching in our section was over how bad Tommy Armstrong played. Husker fans did yell at Ferentz to get off the field. One time was during a 30 sec. time out. Maybe not the brightness fans. Several Nebraska fans congratulated us and wished Iowa good luck against MSU. One older Husker fan asked me if I enjoyed the game and if I was treated alright. All in all it was one of the better times I had at a visitor's stadium. They do need to update some of their songs. 1st time I ever heard a Phil Collins song at a football game.

Phil Collins LOL well we are working on that too.

I'm heading back to butt hurt board. Don't let up !! To win a Championship these days is so remarkable.

First visit to Lincoln with my 16 year old son. We sat among Nebraska fans and had no problems at all. I had similar experiences at Michigan, Northwestern, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana. The ONLY place where I have been constantly harassed is Ames, and my last visit was 10 years ago. I won't go back. With the nine game conference schedule, I sure wish we could play the clones every other year, but I think we are stuck playing them for eternity.
