I think that's the first time I've seen Sorenson get taken down this year. It was somewhat of a lucky pick but it just seems like Sorenson isn't moving as well as he did a month ago? I don't understand it. Real concerned about Clark. We need all 4 of our horses to come through to have success. Hawks seem to be wearing down a bit overall. Starting to seem like a trend around this time of year. Very refreshing watching Stoll manhandle guys. He just seems unbelievably strong and the new stall rule was designed for him. He gets that underhook and explodes. I would probably put Sam ahead of Bobby right now in there freshman seasons. Last year I would not have said that.125-A- he needs to do a better job finishing.
133-F zero offense from his feet, couldn't get his bars, let Montoya on his legs numerous times. He did have a big old new brace on though. The injury could be worse then we thought.
141-B showing progress. He put himself in position to win the match against a tough kid. He's also improving his finishes.
149-B. Wrestled well. He had a brain fart when he let him go and have up a takedown making it a closer match.
157-B+. He beating guys that will be at Ncaas. He's starting to let his offense fly. He just needs to wrestle a whole match
165-c. He is who he is. If he gets away he gives himself a chance to win
174-C wrestled a pretty good kid. I think that's his 7th 2-0 win this year. If tsirtsis can win every match at ncaas Meyer can too. Obviously would like to see more offense
184-F no explanation needed.
197-A. Keep doing what your doing big boy. Surprise the world in March
Hwt-A- he's looking great and he can definitely aa if he keeps this up. The only downside is Hwt is stacked this year.
Both Clark and Meyer seem to not shoot very much and often guys get to their legs. Sprawling will work against many, but not the top guys. Montoya got in on Clark several times, just couldn't finish. I have the feeling Garrett would be getting in on Clark a lot. Cooper showing continued improvement imo. Gilman is looking great, and Stoll as well. Overall okay, but not great team performance.
Gilman - A
Clark - B
Carton - C
Sorensen - B
Cooper - B
Rhoads - C
Meyer - B-
Brooks - D-
Burak - B
Stoll - B+
I'll kindly agree to disagree. I'm happy as long as he can keep bringing in the W's.I watched the dual and Berger didn't give cooper the four. Coop was in on a great high c and Berger tried a risky counter. He was getting taken down for sure. Cooper had a few great attacks early. He didn't do a whole lot after the first but he didn't have to(not that that's a good thing).
Gilman just didn't get it done today? LOL LOL LOL.Gilman - B. He had the major in his grasps, but just looked tired half way through the 2nd. I love watching that guy wrestle, but he just didn't get it done today -- we need him to set the standard.
Clark - C-. Unacceptable to win 2-0 against a non-top 10 opponent, but on the flips side, he could still be nursing the injury...so if that's the case, A for effort.
Carton - A. I thought he was one of the only Hawks to battle his guts out the entire time. For as good as he's been this year (not very), I thought he put on a great show...and battled to the bitter end.
Sorensen - B. JS is no pansy, but would have liked to see BS shoot a few more times.
Cooper - C-. Anyone who actually watched the dual knows that Berger gave Cooper the 4 points...and Coop didn't do much from that point (which was literally seconds into the match).
Rhoads - B. He made the 14th rank Wilson work hard for the win. Zero offense for Rhoads, but he didn't surrender any takedowns...
Meyer - D. He's got to pick it up or we're screwed. With his present offensive assertiveness, Brody could win NCAAs at 141, but we'd still lose due to zero points by Alex. I just want him to do something offensive in nature.
Brooks - I (incomplete). Can't give a grade for a match that lasted less than a minute. That was a typical Sammie move (he has one bad move a match and this one really cost him). Still love watching the guy and think he can get us a top 3 or 4 at NCAAs if he avoids his one bad move per match.
Burak - B. Was hoping he would stay with his offensive minded season (he's really been scoring the points), but unfortunately he reverted back to his old self for this match.
Stoll - B+. He looks good on top or neutral, but he has problems being ridden. Still six points from a HWT against another ranked HWT isn't all that bad.
I'm hoping the fellas were just tired from the late night with Purdue...we need bonus points if we want to have a chance against Cael and company.

I liked what I saw from both of Nebraska's 197 lbers at Midlands, didn't really know who the starter was at the time, but they both looked pretty good to me.Gilman-A Lambert is very solid defensively. An 11-4 win is very impressive. Nico only beat him 8-5.
Clark-B I would like to see more offense but you can't get less than a B when you don't give up a single point.
Carton A for effort, B- for the result. Abidin is very tough and I was surprised by how well Carton did against him.
Sorenson B It's hard to keep convincingly beating some of Sueflohn's caliber. He did what he needed to to win.
Cooper B+ I don't care how he did it, he found a way to win. This is the type of win Iowa needs to have a chance in March.
Rhoads C As the weakest link of a very good team he is great for duals(hard to bonus) but needs to find a way to win these matches.
Meyer B See Clark.
Brooks F Dudley is tough. He looked super motivated and extremely ready to go and Brooks simply didn't........
Burak B- I am not sure if this was Burak looking a little off or Studebaker stepping up. The ending was nerve racking.
Stoll B+ He started off slow, but the reversal at the end of the 2nd was huge. It shifted the momentum and he dominated from there on.
It was a very good performance as a team, but it did raise some questions, especially at 174 and 184. Are these 2 sure things to AA? Hopefully they are in cruise control so that they aren't overtrained going into March. Also, Clark and Burak need to find ways to bonus these type of guys in March. Iowa's best three are in their first 4 weight classes. But, I think they need 174-285 to all reach the podium for them to have a chance in March.
I know I am in the minority on here, but it is a shame there isn't a "True" National Duals Championship. Brands almost always finds a way to win a dual and I now think they even beat PSU this season, especially now that McCutcheon is injured and they look vulnerable at 141..............
I must have a hell of an eye for talent then heh? Ha!Pretty sure Studebaker gave Gadsen his only loss last year. He's tough. He Should be an AA.
The other kid was a stud recruit from Oklahoma but he's just a freshman
I wondered if that's what Clark and Sorenson were doing. Makes sense.Gilman: A-, GMan will tell you he should have scored more.
Clark: B-, He's trying a few different ways to score guys. When March rolls around look for him to go back to his Russian tie's and controlling the ties. He will be fine down the road.
Carton: B, getting better each time out.
Sorensen: B-, see reasons for Clark same here.
Cooper: B, same as Topher getting better every week
Rhoads: C-, tough hard nosed kid that gives it everything he has.
Meyer: C-, don't know what is going on here but it needs fixed soon!
Brooks: D+, Oops cab you say brainfart. He will get him back at Bigs.
Burak: A-, tough kid that took McIntosh to overtime and Nathan wins in reg.
Stoll: A, might be best hwt we had in a long time!! Like him more every time I see him!!! What
