I'm pretty sure it's a superstitious thing. I'll be curious to see if he says anything at the end of the season. And hey, it's been working so far so don't complain.
 
Do you suppose they would say anything less? Bet the Hawk's have hit it well also. They are just giving their obsessed fans something to be hopeful about! No doubt this will be a great game and Iowa will not get pushed around!

Here it is! I was super worried that the "great week of practice" thread wasn't happening. Or if OP said they had a terrible week of practice. Anywho......Now we are ready for tomorrow!

I haven't been shy to say that Nebraska is the best team Iowa will face. The Hawkeye's schedule hasn't prepared them for what Nebraska will bring to the table. Iowa's game will play right into Nebraska's wheelhouse. If we play with heart we will win by double digits. If we come out and give the 75% like we did against Illinois, Northwestern and Wisconsin we'll lose.

Iowa has played and beaten the teams nubby lost to, but our schedule has been easy? Got it.

Not really. NW and Wisconsin are both better than Nebraska. That was proven on the field.

What percentage did they give in their other three losses?

If Nebraska only gives 75% effort, can Iowa get by with 98% effort?

If Nebraska gave 100% effort every game, would they win the AFC East?

Well yeah, I'm sure their practices are pretty enthusiastic...somehow you manage to avert jail time for a felony, and you are pretty damn excited to be practicing football and not having some guy named Bubba jamming his dick anywhere he can find a hole on your body. I'd be pretty enthusiastic too about getting to wear my pretty red uniform and play football too.

Yeah, I've also heard that Beathard usually looks like crap in practice. :)

I havven't seen Nebraska practice, but I've seen their games. Iowa wins today.

Maybe the teams Nebraska beat we're only giving 50 percent and Nebraska was always giving 100 percent. If both Iowa and Nebraska give 100 percent then Iowa wins by 2 TDs. If Nebraska gives 100 percent and Iowa gives 75 percent, Iowa wins by 3. If Nebraska gives 75 percent and the Hawks give 100 percent then Iowa wins by four TDs.

Honestly, we can play this game until our noses bleed but it doesn't mean crap. The game will be decided on the field and, given Iowa's record of beating opponents and Nebraska's record of losing, I like the Hawkeyes' chances.

No, we had a former coach who was a dumpster fire of a coach and human being. He cared more about himself then the young impressionable players he was charged with mentoring. We have had leaders on the team not giving the correct effort in games and it had a trickle down effect on the younger players. We have literally as i like to say half assed it in games. I was at the Northwestern game and it was brutal to watch. Players literally looked like they didn't care. And it all came to a head against Purdue. There was some soul searching and the team and staff came together... accountability was here. We looked like a different team one week later against Michigan State. We'll find out which team shows up??? The one who played Northwestern or the one who played Michigan State. As a life long Husker my head tells me it'll be the latter.
