Nebraska in 2015

Yep. I have no problem with him picking a Nebraska win over Iowa. But talking about a 3 TD blowout this early is ridiculous...especially if you take into account the four games between the two since Nebraska joined the league.

The 'haha-no' comment is the one that gets me. If he thinks we will win by 30, I don't care. I am sure there are some people on here that are convinced we will lose by 30. Just try and be respectful. It happens from both sides (of every team), but damn it is annoying. It makes everybody think that anybody that supports another team is a troll. I come over here on occasion to see what is up and give a perspective from another team.

Every fanbase has its share of A-holes and things always get a bit chippy on these boards the last couplethree weeks before the season begins.

Nebraska will probably be 9-3. Is 9-3 with our schedule and losses to the three best teams that impressive? Probably not.

Iowa is a toss-up? Ha-ha, no. We go into that game as the walking dead every year and still win. Also, we no longer have Pelini as coach to keep it close. Let's not forget, we also have a bye week to heal up prior to the game this year. We will beat Iowa by at least three touchdowns this year.
Nice way to start smack talk in a reasonable discussion - douche. I have done more than my fair share of smack talking, but they are on threads that start out a smack talk.

I can't see Nebraska going worse than 9-3 if they beat BYU, unless it is some sort of crazy year were they lose all of their close swing games. They have a very favorable conference road schedule only Minnesota, Illinois, Rutgers, and Purdue are the conference road games.

Miami will be tough, but they have a terrible coach and Nebraska might have more fans than Miami haha. Wisconsin will be walking into a buzzsaw. If it is a night game I have a hard time seeing Nebraksa losing to them.

Defense should be much better, especially run defense. Offense will be fine IMO. They aren't transitioning from the option to the WCO. They should be good to go by conference play, but I am concerned about nonconference play.

All that said this season is about defensive improvement d limiting turnovers. People are focusing to much on the offense IMO. I'll go 9-3, but I lean closer to 10-2 then 8-4.

Agree. I've loved coming over here for some good CFB and other B1G talk. I just want the B1G to win out of the gate. We have a HUGE first weekend of games. We get no love down here (ATL) (SEC crazy.) and I'd love to see that change.

Agree. Can't compare these stats with Notre Dame. Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Iowa State were horrible in the early years. Mizzou was good in the 60s, and then fell off big time. K-State started to show signs of life 90s right before the Big XII was formed. But I agree. Can't compare these stats to Notre Dame.

ND comparison in the last 1/2 century is just fine.

The Big 8 Conference won more national titles (8) in the last 50 years than the Big 10, Pac 12 , ACC and every other major conference in the country sans the SEC.... and it died 20 years ago, right before adding 2 more to push it to 10. In comparison, a Big 10 powerhouse like Michigan has won 1 national title since the general public was introduced to the color television. They built a statue for Bo Schembechler who won zero national titles with a career 5-12 bowl record.

In the last 1/2 century Nebraska has never lost to Notre Dame, and according to every major publication in America, have produced several more dominant teams than anything ND has ever put on a football field.

But you're probably right...that daunting independent schedule vs the Navy and Boston College's of the world makes a comparison irrelevant. Colorado while in the Big 8 had as many national titles in the last 50 years as Michigan does and you're talking Mizzou in the 60's. Great stuff.

You have 3 posts in this thread so far and have yet to answer the question. You, instead, have decided to be "stereotypical Nebraska fan" and tell us how awesome you used to be. I'm predicting, just as I will for each B1G team, anywhere between 4 and 12 wins. Probably in the 9-3 range based on what we know about this Nebraska team and their opponents, which isn't as much as we think we know.

You want to purposefully miss the point of the reply...not my problem. It's all good.

I'll go with 8-4. Losing DPE for the whole non-con could be big. Not sold on the RB's. WR's and O-line are underrated by outsiders, especially Stanley Morgan Jr and Brandon Reilly. QB inconsistent. Defense more aggressive and faster, but still give up too many big pass plays. D as a whole will be better but not good enough. Excellent kickers may win a close one or two. Schedule is semi-favorable. Have enough talent to beat everyone on the schedule. Too many unknowns with new staff and schemes. True mystery this year.

I didn't miss the point of your reply at all. You seem to have missed the point of mine though. The entire college football universe gives a collective eye roll every time some Sker fan starts in with the history lessons. Reminds me of this:

I get it, dude. I really do. If history is talked about, even very factual recent history, if only to provide perspective, reason and reality about a present topic that was brought up, it's an automatic eye roller.

We should all discuss worthless future unknown record predictions about teams we really have no clue about instead.

I played along with an 8-4 prediction for Neb. I'll also go with Iowa at 8-4 with improved QB and RB play and overall D improvement + schedule does kinda suck.
