New Jordan Goodwin Video

he is not a PG, Rivals list him as a SG, already have Ellingson, Moss and Connor in the 2017 class.

also Rival shows absolutely no PG as having offers in the 2017 class, KF has offered him as a TE.

LOOKS LIKE Fran is happy with who he has.

Okay, I'll enter this quandary. Gilligan19, First thing, Iowa has taken a lot of SG in recent years and made them PG. Jeff Horner, Jake Kelly, Mike Gesell and now Christian Williams. So this is not something that cannot be accomplished. Jordan is called a SG because of his size and current game.

Secondly, Jordan Goodwin has played 3 years of varsity at Class 3A IL HS Belleville Althoff and was not one of the shorter guys on his HS team. He has played a point forward (small) to a shooting guard during his HS career. Jordan played some point guard last summer for a very successful AAU St. Louis Eagles 17U club that had multiple stars like Jeremiah Tilmon, Jayson Tatum, and Tyler Cook. Jordan held his own against older AAU players and show a better outside game as he has matured and the mental toughness to play solid defense in a league that often highlights the scoring talents.

Thirdly, there are YouTube videos for those who will bother to spend the time to watch that show that Jordan is capable of driving with either hand to the basket and make layups, dunks , pull up jumps, or pass in traffic to an open teammate because the defense had to collapse to stop Jordan from scoring. Jordan is unselfish at sharing the rock with his teammates. Yet he seems to find ways to score and help his teams win.

Jordan is a gifted athlete that defies stereotypical position labeling but he is a better guard than Bohannon could EVER hope to become. Jordan is stronger and more physical and plays at a higher level than Ellingson, Bohannon or Connor. And I like Connor. I agree that Connor is a SG but Jordan is the type of recruit that could change the program's direction. Iowa needs better athletes on the roster. I could tout more of Jordan Goodwin's worth as a recruit for Iowa basketball because I have seen him in person 3 times this year and spoke about him on this site after watching him perform at the IL HS 3A state tournament last year.

Gilligan19. I won't conversewith you any more because you don't seem to interested in really doing any homework. I loathe lazy people. Anyone else, I will chat, if you want more of my opinion.

This kid looks legit!! Fran needs to offer him and get him on campus!!! He would be a HUGE boost in athleticism!! The kid can play, he's top 100 in the nation for a reason.

Iowa has offered ( both Football and Basketball offfers) and Jordan has been on the Iowa Campus. Illinois seems to be called the leader for Jordan but they are guard heavy and Jordan's best position is he really wants to play pro ball is at PG. Illinois got Frank Williams (Da'Monte) as a PG commit for 2017. Da'Monte is roughly the same height as Jordan, just not as muscular. Da'Monte and Tejon Lucas are PG for the ILLINI. And next year could be John Groce's last if he fails to make the Dance in March.

Current Rivals rankings have Jordan at #65 and Connor is #90. Jordan could break top 50 by the end of summer if his outside shooting continue to improve.

Considering he has high major offers in football too does anybody know if he said whether he wants to play football or basketball in college?

Personally, I don't buy into the football option. Last year was his first year on varsity football. At 6'4" he is not a burner. Great hands. Marvin McNutt WR mold. Basketball is where he is a real difference maker and higher rated. I believe his father played college basketball. I will try to find out.
