New Years Eve plans?

Early dinner out with family, back home for game night. Up early tomorrow to find a state park to walk around in.

Going to pick up some dungeness crab from the Dekalb Farmer's Market for myself and my wife (no pics). My son said he wanted snow crab and a bottle of this:

so that's what he's going to get.

We'll have a few of these during the Bowl game:

Hopefully, we'll call it a night by 9:30. Lame but enjoyable.

Beer, tequila, pizza, just like most Tuesday nights. The sand man will hit around 11:30.

Couple drinks after work. In early for a mild to no hangover college football day tomorrow.

NYE is generally amateur night, and I don’t like to be on the roads, even in an Uber.

We'll stay in at all costs. I'm working for a half day to finish up a few things, then we'll settle on a dinner plan that will probably it somewhere between frozen pizza and glorified apps with cheese & crackers with some shrimp or something. Then we'll make cocktails & watch movies and football for hours, probably crashing right around midnight. Good times.

We have my 18 mo grandson while his mom and dad are at the hospital delivering the Irish twin. Have a prime rib roast in the water bath at 131.5 for dinner when we get back from the hospital

I made some grill-fried chicken wings on the Weber with the Vortex accessory. Tastes like fried chicken but with a some smoky flavor.

Currently drinking egg nog and Beam.

Out with friends and the Missus is driving. Will probably make it to midnight but not much past that as the sleep gods felt compelled to wake me at 4 this morning.

unless there’s another kid younger than the 18-month-old, those are not Irish twins.

Working to make sure drunks don't hurt themselves or anyone else. Actually, NYE is usually pretty slow and people are well behaved.

My sbgf drug me out to the District in Rock Island last year and I am still tramatized about it. I wish I could describe that as slow with well behaved people. Being a sober person out in amatuer hour was a very rough experience.

I'll be watching football and then some movies this year.

Watch the Texas game.
Make chicken Parmesan.
Have a vodka soda.
Start reading a new book.
Go to bed.

And I can’t wait. After years in the restaurant business, a quiet NYE is almost heaven.

Loaded up the family yesterday and we’re visiting with some dear friends in Chattanooga. Five kids 7 and under having a blast together while we drink excellent beer (Firestone Walker, BCBS, and Westvleteren lined up for tonight), eat wonderful food (big honkin’ filets), and tell old jokes.
