next commit?

Really hoping it's Eno Benjamin or Chester Graves, but I'm guessing it could be Colin Anderson or Mark Kallenberger.

Kallenberger has an older brother at Iowa Central that plays DE that he wants to play in college with. Good chance they are a package deal. His brother was a very good DE in HS and some interest from a handful of schools but didn't have the grades I guess. Dont expect a commitment soon from Mark

He better be careful with that. Iowa will probably take two more on the oline. There is a 4 star from New Jersey that has said he wants to visit this summer. There are also a couple other big kids from Iowa that the coaches might get a look at in camps. Dykstra, Kleinow and Newell.

with KF and any position the 1st to commit gets the scholarship. I do remember a kid from NJ but if it is the one I am thinking of he just named O$U as his leader.

IA will be just fine with who ever they get on the OL. OT Twirff's is a 4* on Scout and his updated height and weight is 6'5 280 lbs after his JR season. this is up from 6'4 260 going into his JR season give him another year maybe he grows to 6'6 300 lbs.

Just saying what I heard. Obviously I don't know for sure if that's true but I trust the source.

I had heard the same and was really excited, hopefully he does visits, sometimes that is all it takes, what I will be watching for in the NFL draft is will Walsh and Blythe both get drafted and where they are drafted to follow up where Scherff was drafted.

here's to crossed fingers.

They are not a package deal, what Mark does is independent to anything his brother does. He was a little surprised and disappointed that Wisconsin didn't invite him to junior day. He's enjoying playing basketball and doesn't seem close to a decision any time soon. Good kid, will probably end up at Iowa but don't think it's a given at this point and time, IMO.

New here. Do you think we get Mark?

I do. Mark is a homebody, so I don't see him going too far from home. Iowa and Nebraska top 2 in that order, but things could get interesting if Wisconsin jumped in.
Just so you all know, I am not a troll. I moved to Omaha 12 years ago and signed up for rivals to read the Husker boards. It's tough living here being a Hawkeye, but also fun with our successes recently in all sports.

No worries from me, I'm not an Iowa fan. Just know a little about this recruit.

I think Mark K. will be one of the 2-3 OLs in the 2017 class. No inside info here. Just feel like the staff will have him high on the top target list and will pull Mark into the Hawkeye Family.

He also tweeted a four leaf clover emoji which is confusing because they haven't offered him yet. Perhaps he's expecting one in the next month.
Maybe it's for luck. he has hinted that it is a Big 10 team. It will be either Iowa or Nebraska but last I heard he said Iowa was his favorite.

Not as high on Nebraska boards as others they are in on.

I think we only take one DB this year. We've taken many in the last two classes. Given where we sit for Darnay Holmes, we will probably lose out on Colbert because he'll commit months before we have word from Darnay (June announcement).

For #huskers not to take colbert would be huge, huge mistake. Losing Fant to Iowa is unacceptable as well

I'm not exactly sure what our strategy is. The amount of legit interest seems to outstrip our scholarship budget. I personally wouldn't want to turn away Colbert, no.

I wonder if they get any commits from the next Junior day? Jordan Rowell might be a candidate for the next commit. I think he is visiting then and Iowa is his only offer right now.

I'm hoping RB Andrew Clair is an early commit after Jr. Day. A little on the smallish side, but has great quickness, excellent feet, and the burst to be an excellent change-of-pace back and KO/punt returner. Looks like a Barry Sanders type back with his quickness and cuts. No other offers yet, so a little bit of a sleeper. Rowell is more like the top recruits, but Clair can make people miss and could be a big play guy. Just my take, after watching his highlights.

Yeah I am surprised Clair doesn't have more offers. I think Rowell ultimately ends up on the defensive side.

With a smallish class (14-17) range according to Coach Wallace...will the Hawks wait a little longer for some "targeted" recruits or will they employ the same strategy as last year and fill up fairly quickly. I think it was coach Wallace that stated some "higher" rated kids inquired about the Hawks but the staff stuck by their guys.

My hope is that we wait. Of course we would take a commit from a Colbert or Benjamin type, that's a no brainer. We might take three more from instate, at least two more. That doesn't leave many slots to capitalize on if we have another monster year. Which we have a good chance at.

Nah... offer em all and then cut em, if necessary, ala Harbaugh!;)
No way, if we offer and they commit, then stick with them. A lot of in-state discussion about Michigan's tactics. It has upset numerous High school coaches from what I have heard and read.

I can imagine it is not going over well with a lot of people. It really left some guys without many options at the last minute. If had told those players much sooner what was going on that would be different but they waited until it looked like they were going to get some better prospects. That is why I hope Benjamin doesn't buy what they are selling.
