NFL overtime rules just don't make sense to me.

I have always felt the NFL should come up with something similar to the hockey/soccer shootout.

Who wouldn't enjoy watching a game of 500 to break a tie?

That's the equivalent of in the top 10th inning you give up a run and game over sorry your pitcher gave up a run. Play a full quarter or everything else is a farce.

I see your point, but I think giving up a FG would be like giving up ONE run. Giving up TD is like giving up THREE runs....

I'm no soccer fan, but while exciting, the shootout has to be the dumbest f%$king idea in the history of the planet on how to break a tie. Talk about leaving the outcome of the game up to completely random chance. Goal keepers flat guessing and diving a certain way before the ball is even kicked? What the hell does that have to do with determining which team is better and more deserving of victory?

They should just shoot marbles in the center circle or have a quick game of craps.

It's really bad. The only defense I have is because of soccers substitution rules both teams are so gassed by the time of the shootout you really are risking injury by keeping the "regular game" going.

And it's increddibly exciting.

2 bad excuses, but who says sports have to make sense?

Aaron Rodgers is now 0-7 in OT games. Perhaps McCarthy should have gone for 2 at the end of regulation.

'bean...Remember, it is the NFL. "The fix" was in long before the OT. I too think BOTH teams should get a possession but then, who am I? I don't even bet the games.

The fix is in - said every fan of losing teams

I find the college OT more exciting, although never really liked putting the ball in FG range right away. I would like to see the NFL adopt a college model of OT, although start the possession at midfield or the 40. No closer than the 40.

Did he step foot on the field in any of those games?

Yeah, here's the last time they played AZ in the playoffs:
