NFL teams can’t even get to 25 points

that's interesting that you want to use that argument when justifying low point scores in the NFL...
but you don't want to use that same measure when comparing Iowa's offense against other offenses in the NCAA that clearly do not play against the same level of defenses that Iowa plays against.
What you should have said was Ohio State only scored 23 in their first game. Therefore, Iowa > Ohio State.

79th out of 131...after 1 non-con game against a weak defense. (sample size of 1) Let's check back in early October.

i think it is reasonable but considering that iowa currently (in 2023) has the 79th (out of 131 teams) scoring offense and this constitutes a massive jump from where we were last year and was accoompanied by a significant defensive decline, there is no call right now (for this year) to pile on the offense.

Yeah, okay... it must suck being blind, deaf, and dumb.

OSU played a G5 team in their first game?
you are not applying the same measure
you say the NFL scores low because the competition is tougher..
but with the NCAA, you are using a different measurement.. claiming some teams are not as tough because they are not P5.

in other words..
you want to compare Iowa's offense with Sam Houston and Georgia State's offenses.
but clearly, they do not play against the same level of competition as Iowa does.

but then you do a 180 with the NFL...and say its because defenses are tougher

if the defenses in the Big Ten are tougher than the defenses in Conference USA
then it is not fair to compare an offense in the Big Ten with an offense in Conference USA

otherwise, it absolutely is fair to compare Iowa's offensive numbers with that of NFL teams.
and so... Iowa's offense is better than the Kansas City Chiefs offense.

This. What's funny is we play these teams like Utah St who we know aren't good defensively and we say just wait, that teams better than you think. Then some team like San Diego St goes out and runs for 250 against them while we ran for 88. Rinse and repeat. It's not good defense. It's bad offense. Plain and simple.

What struck me the most about this comment is, any given Saturday…

This team beat a pretty solid 10-3 Air Force last year 34-27.

It is what it is…

The Hawks definitely should have been able to run the ball better against a mid major but do we know for sure Utah State defense sucks as bad as last year? Not trying to troll. An honest question since there's only been 1 game played...

Hopefully we see some improvements today on O and the new guys on D learned alot last week.

Go Hawks!

Many just need to state that they think Brian is a great OC instead of drivel like this.

There are many many games to show otherwise, but, here we are using the scores of other games to make some strange argument that Brian is not the worst OC in CFB

Keep taking long drags on that good stuff.

So far, a whopping 9 out of 30 NFL teams have scored 25+ points.

Dominant defenses no longer exist in that league.

The rules now all favor offense.

You have the best skill players being coached by the most "innovative" minds in the game.

And teams are scoring the same amount of points that Iowa fans are in an uproar about their undefeated Hawkeye team scoring.

These fans really have a lot of nerve; unrelentingly calling for the job of a 200 win coach.

Just because all these coaches have ego complexes and have to constantly prove that they are the most clever, doesn't mean that's a better way of playing ball.

Run games are basically an afterthought. The tough yards in the red zone and on 3rd and short to extend drives aren't able to be fought for. Rampant incompletions make it hard for teams to establish a rhythm and impose its will.

Meanwhile Iowa has a coach that is secure in who he is, who and what his program is, and what his formula is. This has blessed Iowa fans with 20+ years of consistent success.

Why on earth is there such a loud degree of negativity from the fans? There are a handful of teams that have the resources to be great every year. And then there are the rest. Well, it turns out that amongst the rest, Iowa has been as good or better than all of them for a long time. Literally, Iowa is as good as you can possibly expect them to be. Persistently negative fans should be ashamed of themselves.

Iowa can't afford to change. Alabama made the decision to run spread offense and forfeit their identity as a defensive program. Guess what, they are no longer able to impose their will as the better program playing that style of ball. The day Iowa forfeits it's identity as a defensive program will be the day that decades of consistent success ends. Iowa will start having crappy seasons every 3 or four years. Fans will reminisce about the Ferentz days.

Iowa football is an absolute treasure. One of the few teams left that plays something close to good, old school ball. The collisions found in an Iowa game are what the game used to sound like. Dread the day, with all of your being, that Iowa football becomes something else

Just ask all the OC experts in here that played middle school fball, I’m sure they know more about it,lol. Foos

Maybe you missed the fact that folks are okay with KF, it's BF that they are saying goodbye to.

And comparing NFL to D1 is like comparing D1 to Middle School and expecting the same outcome.
