Terrible ending, but that happens. You guys really over achieved this year and had a great season. Good luck in 2016, I hope to make it to the game in Iowa City.

Yes we probably overachieved to a degree but what we showed in the Rose was little of how we played all year. We looked unprepared to play when you have multiple false starts, dropped passes, missed tackles, missed blocks, missed extra points. That's something you see at our open scrimmages in the spring. We even punted to McCaffery when everyone knew that was a mistake coming in.

The take away from this is there is something wrong with our bowl prep that needs to be looked at. After postimg a 6-3 record.including wins over FLA, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Missouri we have now lost 4 straight. This year the players were really down about losing a heart breaker to MSU and the head coach set the mindset of enjoying / soaking up the Rose experience as a reward for a great season. He even emphasized working with the freshman when 95% of them have yet tio see the field. Stanford on the other hand was focused, prepared and was tired of hearing about the NW loss (who we both slaughtered) so this was a perfect opportunity to nail a B1G team playing on a disrespecting us card. We might have lost on a good day but that was by no means a typical performance. That's on us to address going forward for future bowls.
